Great washer has wonderful features

I love the washer it is very quiet. the longer is dryer than normal which makes the dryer work less. This make the units more efficient.

Purchased matched pair for new home. Shortly after warranty expired Softener and bleach dispenser failed to dispense products. Several articles of clothing were ruined by bleach that should have been dispensed in white cycle appears to have been dispensed in following wash cycle (colored clothes). So we no longer add bleach or softener. THEN, knob that allows setting for cycles failed to allow changes (spins freely).

Well this worked great until it didn’t. This will be the shortest amount of time ever for a new machine. I’ve owned multiple brand new machines. Just about 5 years and the rear bearing failed which would cost more than a new machine. I purchased a warranty but unfortunately I had my home being built and made the purchase before I even actually had them delivered and installed so my time passed for that. The repair too much Unless I tried to do it myself which just isn’t going to happen since the whole machine has to be taken apart :-( I feel like it should have lasted longer and I’ve seen many people with the same issue now.

Won’t last 4 years

Do not expect more than 4 years out of this washing machine. We got this washer after its predecessor (similar model) died after 4 years (bearings went out). GE offered us a good deal on a replacement washer, so we took it. Big mistake. The replacement machine also lasted only 4 years — and we are a family of four with average laundry needs. Never again GE

Door hinge continually breaks

I’ve had this washer for about 4-5 years. I already had to replace the door once, and now it’s breaking again! The hinge on the door is awful - so weak. I even tried propping it up on something while not in use, but the darn thing is breaking again. I feel like I will be going down a rabbit hole if I keep having to replace the door time and time again. I’m almost at the point where I’m gonna buy a new washing machine, and not one from GE.

Bought this washer 6 years ago. Has always worked well for a house with 2 boys (so.many.dirty.things.to.wash). Stopped mid-cycle, towels are soaked, door gasket shredding, filled up drain filter, small water leak. Replaced the gasket and two of the shocks, but looking like the "spider bracket" is the root of the problem. I'm pretty handy, but debating if i should sink more time and money into this machine or not. I would expect that a washer that retails for this much would last longer.

Very poor quality washer. Often smells of wet water. The clothes do not get clean and the spin cycle is louder than a jet engine.
