Best bottle design but horrible nipple flow

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With my second born, it has been and continues to be a struggle to detach her from my breast. Unlike my first born who preferred bottles over breastfeeding, I cannot find a bottle that my second one will take - either the rate is too fast that overwhelms her and she chokes, or in this case, the nipple for this Avent Natural Bottle is too slow! my daughter’s suck is pretty strong since she is primarily breastfed, and she sucked and sucked initially I think waiting for a “let down”, but since the flow continued to be slow, she got frustrated and got so mad she just cried and cried. She didn’t get a good feed in until couple hrs later since she fell asleep after all that crying.
I wish the bottle worked out for us since I really like the design of the bottle! It’s designed so that there are no leaks whatsoever. Even when you tip the bottle upside down, nothing will drip out of the nipple, unless it is sucked on. So if you accidentally knock the bottle down, you don’t have to worry about it spilling all over the floor. Also, these are easier to clean with way less parts to wash compared to other competitive brands on the market. And lastly, If you have a spectra pump you will love these even more since they have the same mouth as the spectra bottles and will attach directly to your pump!

This can result in a longer time for the baby to finish the drink, but is a more natural experience overall for the little one.If your little one gets frustrated, like you mentioned, you can try a nipple with a bigger flow.

Latches to the bottle like the breast

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were given the chance to try this bottle from the Stellar Product Testing program. Up until this point we had only used the standard bottle and nipple (not wide mouth) so I wasn't too sure if she would take to this bottle or not. I thought the shape of this nipple would help her latch better, as she's both breast and bottle fed, and tends to have leakage out of the corners of her mouth when using a standard nipple. Surprisingly she took to this bottle immediately and no leakage! She latches as though she's breastfeeding. It also helps that there aren't a ton of parts and with the wide opening these bottles are easy to clean.

Would recommend these bottles

They are easy to hold and easy to clean, and we haven’t had any issues with leaking, as we have with some other brands. Would definitely recommend for any family!

Good for breastfed babies

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my 4th baby and each of my children have had no issue with the Avent brand bottles. After trialing many bottles over the years I highly suggest one like this with the wide neck as it makes is SO much easier to clean with a bottle brush. The wide opening doesnt catch the brush causing all the water to spray up onto your face. The paced feeding was nice so she wasn’t gulping. See photo- usually if you turn a bottle upside down the liquid dribbles out. This doesnt unless prompted by the baby. We do both breast and bottle feed with no issue.
In addition, these bottles are widely available, just in case you are out of town and need to pick up more. This product was provided by stellar panel however the review is my own.

Philips Avent Baby Bottle and Nipple

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this baby bottle to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
I am a mom to a two months old baby boy and we do a combination of breastfeeding at the breasts and bottle feeding while I’m away at work and doing errands. On average, I would say my son takes about seven bottles a day and he nurses twice. He nurses once in the morning and once in the evening. We were fortunate and given the chance to try the Philips Avent Natural baby bottle with Natural Response nipple. Here are my thoughts and experiences:
My baby did not take the bottle after several attempts over a few days. He would suck for a little bit and spit the the nipple out with his tongue and fuss. I checked the nipple and bottle every time. I thought the nipple is soft, and very nicely engineered. However, the flow of milk is too slow for my baby. It may be the perfect flow for a younger baby though so do not let my experience sway your decision.
The Philips Avent Natural Response nipple is beautiful. Looking at its natural designs it looks like the anatomy of a teat! When I turned the bottle upside down, there was no spilling or leaking of milk. It is great to conserve the milk and eliminate leaking. I have tried other brands and leaking is one of the biggest issues my husband and I struggle with. You won’t have that with the Philips Avent Natural baby bottle and Natural Response nipple. I squeezed the nipple upside down and still there was no leak. It takes the suckling motion of a baby’s mouth for the milk to come out. Amazingly engineered.
The bottle, 9oz is huge! My baby takes approximately three ounces every 2-3 hours. I would recommend the 9oz for a baby that takes more milk because the big 9oz bottle is harder to hold when trying to pace feed a small baby and holding them upright with the other hand. The bottle fits perfectly in my bottle warmer, but since it is made from plastic, it is very slippery when it is wet after being removed from the warmer. I would advise drying it well before carrying it away. The bottle is skinny in the middle like a figure-8 shape. I am not a fan of the shape because it makes it hard for the baby to hold. The shape also does not resemble a “breast.” My baby likes to take his hands and grab his bottles and pull closer to his face when he eats and the shape makes it difficult for him to do so. I think he does that to his bottles because he does that during breastfeeding.
Overall, I would rate the bottle and nipple a four.

New Favorite Bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this baby bottle set as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and they are now my new favorite bottles. I really like the simplicity of the bottle and the ergonomic design of the bottle has made it easy for my little guy to hold. He is almost 6 months old and has just started to hold the bottle and these bottles are perfect for him to practice this new skill. One of my favorite features is that these bottles only have three parts which makes them super easy to assemble and clean. This is really important to me as a busy mom of two young kids who travels with my baby quite a bit. It is so much easier to clean and sterilize only 3 parts of a bottle when you are traveling. I also like the shape of these particular nipples since my little guy is breastfed and bottle fed. As a nursing mom, I liked the responsive tip and that my baby can only get milk out when he is actively suckling. I also really like that these bottles do not leak when baby stops to catch their breath while drinking. My baby can easily control the pace of the feeding with these bottles and I have not noticed any increase in gas or hiccups while using this product. I would highly recommend these bottles to other moms!

Long Time Favorite

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a fan of these bottles for a while. My 3 year old used these as a baby and my 4 month old has taken to them like a champ. I recently returned to work and the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle with Natural Response Nipple has been the perfect transition from breast to bottle. As an added bonus, the bottles fit my pump flanges perfectly and the wide neck is ideal for pouring that precious breast milk.
My baby was able to latch on to the soft, wide nipple very easily and has not had trouble switching between breast and bottle. We started with a flow 3 and it is just right, allowing him to pause and resume feeding comfortably. I also like that these nipples prevent leaks, especially when we're talking about precious breast milk.
The bottle's ergonomic design makes it easy to hold while feeding my baby and is by far the easiest bottle to clean. It has just a few parts making it easy to take apart, wash, and quick to put back together which is a huge plus with impatient eaters!
Huge thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this baby bottle set. I've already purchased additional bottles to keep at our relatives house.

Great Bottle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bottle checks all the boxes! Lightweight, easy to hold, and no leaking or dripping. My 3 month old is primarily breastfed and had no problem taking the bottle. The nipple design is great, my little one actually fell asleep while drinking and wouldn’t let go of the nipple! Super easy to put together and clean, as it’s only 3 very streamlined pieces. Really makes a pleasant and calm feeding experience. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
