Great Bottle for my Breastfed Baby

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son is 4 months old and exclusively breastfed. I am returning to work in a few weeks and I have been trying to introduce a bottle with expressed milk for some time. We’ve been through so many different ones, but he just cannot figure it out. I was given this baby bottle to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and I’m so happy with it! I was shocked when my son took this bottle with ease after weeks of stressing about him refusing anything but my breast. The wide and responsive nipple allows him to switch from breast to bottle with ease and he can drink at his own pace, which was an issue with other nipples. I may need to switch to a faster flow nipple as time passes but for now he’s doing great! The ergonomic shape is so helpful when feeding him and it’s so easy to clean and assemble! I like that it fits up to 9oz as well, which is helpful when packing him up for the day. We’re very happy with this bottle; and my son is a tough critic! I feel so relieved now that he will take a bottle and I don’t have to worry about his eating while I’m at work.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this bottle. It has 3 simple, easy to clean parts and I can easily change out the nipple as my baby ages. My daughter really struggled with a bottle the first day I left her at home with my mom. I panicked and needed something that she would take as she’s a breastfed baby and used to eating from me. This bottle was recommended to me as a solution to my problem and my daughter immediately took it. I was so grateful avent made a bottle that mimics breastfeeding and even has a natural response nipple too! Without this bottle I wouldn’t be able to leave my baby without feeling terrified that she won’t eat. I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been testing out the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle 9 oz with Natural Response Nipple. I can say I am so impressed that they do not leak. My current bottle leaks terrible, and is annoying to clean. These are so easy to clean and assemble. My baby has no issues with the wide shape, and he does fine with the responsive nipple once I got the right flow. He goes between the bottle and nursing fine. Gifted by Stellar Product Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as part of Stellar Product Testing Panel; however, I will be buying more on my own! I love this bottle, and my baby (who is very very particular on her bottles) seemed to like it as well. When she was born we went through 8 different bottle types as she had latch issues, I wish I would have had these bottles at that time. Compared to the current bottle we are using I find that the Philips Avent is easier to clean, sturdier, much easier to warm, and ergonomically more friendly (my favorite part). Will be recommending to new mommas going forward!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was super excited to receive this bottle to review as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel! I like the design of the bottle - it's nice and long so my babe can try to hold onto it if he wants to and I like that it holds up to nine ounces.
Unfortunately, the nipple style did not work for my babe. It continually collapsed so he got frustrated over and over again unable to get the milk from the bottle. We ended up having to switch bottles midway through a feeding because he was so frustrated.
I'm not sure if a different nipple flow would have helped solve the problem to better suit his drinking style, which is why I gave more than one star!
I will say the bottle was easy to clean and assemble, I love anything that doesn't have a ton of pieces to clean.

Hi,
We understand how disappointing this must be. Your baby will need some time to switch to the Natural Response teat. Babies are sensitive to change, so adjusting to a new way of feeding may take a few attempts. When introducing a new bottle to your little one, feed them when they are relaxed and not hungry. If you have attempted to feed a few times with no success, your baby may need a different teat flow. Are you unsure which Natural Response teat to choose when feeding your little one? Suppose your baby feeds from a traditional bottle, including our original Natural or Anti-colic bottle range. In that case, they will likely need a higher Natural Response teat flow, as your newborn is used to milk flowing out of the teat effortlessly. The Natural Response teat is available in teat flows 1 to 6. Teat 6 is more suitable for thicker liquids or babies who want a fast flow.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I only have one “negative” thing to say about this bottle. Compared to our other bottles, it has a bit of a wider base so it fits less nicely in the insulated pockets of our diaper bag with the ice pack we have, but it still does fit and the pocket zips. Now that that’s out of the way, let me tell you why we ended up switching our entire bottle system over to these bottles after trying this one for a couple of weeks. The bottle size is great and it’s even slightly lighter weight than our former bottle, even without that bottle's extra anti-colic parts, but the capacity is still larger. The shape makes it easy for me to hold and even our little one is starting to grab it and hold it herself. The minimal number of parts makes them a breeze to clean, and I don’t even mind handwashing them. As a result, when we switched our entire system over to these, I realized we didn’t need as many bottles altogether. I love that I don’t need anything except the lid for traveling because they don’t release milk unless actively compressed/sucked. Additionally, these bottles attach directly to my pump flanges without any additional adapters, and I can use the rings/nipples with the pump collector cups if needed. Now I did say that the wider bottle was a “negative,” but it’s also a positive for me because it’s less messy to clean with a bottle brush. On narrower bottles, the brush will spray soapy water everywhere when I take it out. But since these are wider, there’s no mess. As for the milk flow, our baby did amazing with these natural response nipples. We did end up going up a flow rate (4) than what came with the bottle (3) because she’s nearly 6 months old now. Our little one has laryngomalacia, which means part of her larynx is underdeveloped and sometimes blocks her airway. As a result, she was on premie nipples in our other system until about 2 months old. This also means she can have trouble keeping milk down, especially when it’s coming at her like gangbusters. With the Avent natural response, she controls the pace so there’s no milk dripping out of the corner of her mouth and she’s not getting choked up on it either. We waste far less milk because there’s no constant drip. Bottom line: I wish we would have started out our feeding journey with these bottles because they have saved me so much time, energy and even breastmilk! I was given this baby bottle to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this bottle from the stellar product testing panel to try. We have used multiple major brand bottles in the past but truly enjoyed using this one. The natural response system made a difference in the spit up that my 7-month-old had compared to the other brands. The bottle was very easy to clean with a bottle brush. My 7-month-old was able to hold the bottle with both of her hands without issue. I also liked that there were only three parts to the whole bottle which were all dishwasher safe. The only drawback I had to this bottle was the cap was sometimes hard to open. One-handed and required a twisting action with both hands in order to remove the cap. Other than that, the customizable flow levels were helpful in making sure that my child had the perfect flow that matched her feeding speed. Due to the ease of use, decreased reflux, and easy to clean product, we were very satisfied with this bottle and have already recommended it to other parents.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was excited for this bottle but my baby hated it. He was choking and sputtering from a flow that was much too fast and wound up refusing bottles for several feedings after. It bothers me that this is advertised to be close to breastfeeding but the flow is extreme compared to the breast. They need to do better. I was given this product as part of the stellar product testing panel. All opinions are my own.

Hi,
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. This is not the experience we wish your baby had with our Natural Baby Bottle. We designed the nipple range to work for all different of drinking patterns, from fast and enthusiastic to slow and steady. The Natural Response Nipple is available in nipple flows 1 to 5. As the flow is too fast for your baby, we recommend a lower nipple flow from the Natural Response range (such as nipple number 1 or 2) to avoid overflow. We hope this was helpful.
