Technical Issues - ASUS ZenWiFi BT10 – WiFi 6GH

The ASUS ZenWiFi BT10 fails to deliver stable Wi-Fi 6 GHz connectivity, lacks Smart Connect controls, defaults to unstable DFS channels, and does not support AiMesh node port bonding for my Synology NAS. Overall performance is far below expectations. I am requesting a return/refund as the product is not fit for purpose.”

We do understand your disappointment with the product and the inconvenience this may have caused if you are experiencing unstable connection. To resolve the weak signal, place the router in the center of the area you want to cover, avoid placing the router near metal objects, electronic devices or direct sunlight, position the router on a flat, hard surface and halfway between the floor and ceiling. Additionally, dense building materials, such as gypsum, concrete walls and planks can affect Wi-Fi signal penetration. Also, we recommend updating the Mesh router firmware if it is running with an older version. Firmware is available for download at: https://www.asus.com/networking-iot-servers/whole-home-mesh-wifi-system/zenwifi-wifi-systems/asus-zenwifi-bt10/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=ASUS-ZenWiFi-BT10. The first thing I noticed was how nicely these were packaged. Setup was a breeze with the Quick Setup Guide. I will note I was prompted to do a firmware update during the initial setup. This only updated the primary router, I had to circle back after the setup was finished to update the matching satellite. I do enjoy the ASUS app; however, web access to the router is much more robust and easier to manage (recommended). Firmware updates from the app are easy enough, but I haven't been able to figure out how to view my separate IOT SSID vs my primary one. It's easily available via web (for example). Personally, I schedule a reboot every Sunday night around 2am just to refresh things, but this is not necessary. I upgraded from 2x Asus RT-AX88U (mesh), which is a very nice Wifi 6 setup. Even with that, I've noticed a pretty modest gain in my download speeds. I subscribe to 1GB, and usually got anywhere from 700-900 Mbps download. Since upgrading to this BT10 setup, I'm usually around 1100. Zero complaints about this unit, and aesthetically, my wife approves.
