Poor string feed

Bought this hoping that the "self feed" vs "bump feed" would work better. Does not. I still have to stop, open the cap, advance the string, etc. The single battery doesn't last through my front and back yard. Tried to purchase a second battery in store but they didn't carry it.

Hello Reynolds Revival.
We are sorry to hear that your experience with the 24V 12" String Trimmer & Edger has not met your expectations. The auto-feed system is designed to advance the line automatically when the trigger is released and engaged, but if the line is not feeding properly, it may be due to how the spool is wound or if the line is stuck. Making sure the line is wound tightly and not crossed over itself can often improve performance.
Regarding runtime, the included 2.0Ah battery typically provides up to 20–30 minutes of use, depending on grass type and trimming conditions. For larger yards, many users find it helpful to keep a spare battery on hand. Additional 24V batteries are available directly through our website at www.greenworkstools.com, as well as through authorized retailers such as Amazon, Lowe’s, and Home Depot.
We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving our tools. If the auto-feed continues to give you trouble, please reach out to our support team so we can help troubleshoot or explore warranty options. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, accessible by clicking “Chat with an Expert” in the bottom corner of your screen, Chat with a Live Agent I Monday - Friday: 9:30am – 5pm EST or by calling 1-888-909-6757 between 9AM and 7PM EST, M-F. 9AM and 5PM EST, SAT - SUN. So, our experts can discuss your experience; please have your unit, battery and charger with you along with the model and serial number to complete troubleshooting to ensure quick resolution is provided. *Hours are subject to change without notice.
Thank you for choosing Greenworks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Light weight and easy to use. The perfect trimmer for my half acre grassed lot. A single line for trimming concerned me , but it does a great job even along the concrete driveway . The automatic line feed works reliably. Battery time is more than enough for driveway , street edge, flower beds around the complete house, and five tree beds.
Pros: Convenient, Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Effective, Powerful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great Trimmer! Works really well in tight spaces and the pivot head and roller makes edging a breeze.

The green charger shown in the pictures is not the charger we received. We were sent a cheaper black charger; we were not pleased with this bait and switch tactic.
Pros: Easy to Use, Effective, Powerful
