Not the easiest tool to use. You really need a second battery, because it doesn't last as-long-as advertised. Disappointed because of this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello BruceL,
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the run time of this battery when used in this String Trimmer. It is important to adjust your trimming techniques to make the most out of the battery life. This unit is advertised as running up to 40 minutes with a fully charged 2Ah battery, but it goes without saying that that the harder the unit works, the quicker the battery drains. Here are a few tips to help achieve the optimal run time. Cut with the bare tip of the line because this is the section which moves at the highest speed. Do not let the line slap into grass. Ease the line into grass, bit by bit. You should not allow all the line to meet the grass as this will tend to slow it down causing it to lose momentum and it will not do a good job of cutting. Remember to always have the guard and the metal flower guide on while using the trimmer. This will prevent the line from snapping off and going back into the spool housing. We hope these tips will help! If not, we would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please submit an email using the customer contact page on our website or give us a call at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.

Batteries don’t last

We bought this Black Friday of 2020.. really wanted to love it but the batteries don’t last very long and the mower is not that strong. The tools themselves are okay, nothing amazing but they work. However, we have a relatively SMALL yard and my husband has to mow the front and back on separate days because the batteries don’t last long enough. Huge disappointment

Hello,
Thank you for your review. We appreciate your honest opinion and are sorry that you were not completely satisfied with this set. It's important to adjust your mowing techniques to make the most out of the battery life! It goes without saying that that the harder the unit works, the quicker the battery drains. Here are a few mowing tips! 1) When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed in order to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings. 2) Only mow 1/3 of the total grass length at a time - no more. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months. 3) Mow when the grass is dry. As this is an electric unit, mowing wet/damp grass is a safety issue. However, ensuring the grass is dry will also help the grass cut cleanly and discharge appropriately. Wet/damp grass carries more weight and will mostly stick to the blade/motor shaft and will not appropriately discharge or cut easily. 4) Make sure the battery is cool before use. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging. We hope these tips will help!

Excellent mower. Batteries contain enough juice to get me through my yard. Bagging system is a plus. Only downside I see so far, is the drive wheels lock after using the self drive feature causing the mower not to roll back when I pull. The wheels release after a few seconds.
