My green mower battery charger needs help

The batteries can mow a 1/4 acre IF you set the speed to the lowest but do a great job
I have mowed the yard twice and the result is excellent but it takes a few days to mow my acre as I do need to charge in between mows
Now after my 4th charge, my charger lights are always flashing red so I have to guess when the batteries are charged.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hello Sanna,

We are sorry to hear that you were not completely satisfied with the run time of this battery when used in this lawn mower. It is important to adjust your mowing techniques to make the most out of the battery life, here are a few mowing tips to help achieve the optimal run time.

1) When cutting thick grass, reduce walking speed to allow for a more effective cut and a proper discharge of the clippings.
2) Only mow 1/3 of the total grass length at a time - no more. For a healthy lawn, always cut off one-third or less of the total length of the grass. The average lawn should be approximately 1 1/2 to 2” (3.8 to 5 cm) long during cool months, and between 2" to 3 1/4" (5 cm to 8.3 cm) long during hot months.
3) Mow when the grass is dry. As this is an electric unit, mowing wet/damp grass is a safety issue. However, ensuring the grass is dry will also help the grass cut cleanly and discharge appropriately. Wet/damp grass carries more weight and will mostly stick to the blade/motor shaft and will not appropriately discharge or cut easily.
4) Make sure the battery is cool before use. When the battery will not be in use, we suggest storing it indoors, in a cool dry area - away from direct sunlight. Leave the charger unplugged and the battery disconnected from the charger unless it needs charging.
5) Only use the self-propelled feature when needed.

Regarding the charger, we are sorry to hear that you have encountered an issue with your charger. Please try resetting it. In some cases that the charger has been plugged in for an extended period, it may malfunction. Simply unplug it for a few minutes and then plug it back in and try another outlet.
If you continue to experience this issue, it is likely that the battery or charger may be experiencing a fault.

We hope these tips will help. If not, we would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please contact Greenworks at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). All we ask that you have access to the unit so that we can complete troubleshooting with you and gather necessary unit information.

I got this trimmer as a deal with my GW mower. The convenience and freedom of going cordless was very appealing. However, from the time of its very first use, this piece of crap has been nothing but frustrating. No matter how many times you bump the spool (pro tip...DO NOT BUY A BUMP TRIMMER!) the dual lines constantly end up retreating inside the trimmer causing you to have to constantly stop, open up the spool, and reset them, only to have it happen again minutes later. I have read and re-read the manual, watched countless videos, and attempted to fix this thing numerous times to no avail. Bottom line...it's JUNK, plain and simple.

Hello there,

We're sorry you're having issues with the line feed on your GreenWorks string trimmer. If the line keeps retreating back into the spool housing this may indicate the line is snapping at long lengths and the spool has been wound the wrong way.

First, always have the guard on the unit. There's a blade on the guard that helps to maintain the length of the line.
Second, ensure you do not leave any line on the notches. The notches are design for storage and will prevent line feed if the line is not released from the notches.
Third, check and ensure you are winding both lines the correct way.

Hope this helps!

If you're still having issues, please contact us at 1-888-909-6757. We're happy to help.

I am a 57 year old widow and I haven't had to mow the lawn in 19 years. My nephew suggested I switch to a battery powered lawn mower to keep things simpler for me. I researched options, chose this one and I love it! It's lightweight, it's super easy to use and clean. It takes up very little storage space. Best Decision Ever!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this a few weeks ago and charged the batteries until full. The machine only ran for 15 minutes before it died. I would not recommend.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with the run time of this battery when used in this lawn mower.
It is important to adjust your mowing techniques to make the most out of the battery life! This unit is advertised as running up to XX minutes, but it goes without saying that that the harder the unit works, the quicker the battery drains.
Here are a few mowing tips to help achieve the optimal run time.
Self-propelled mowers do use more battery than standard push mowers as more power is being demanded from the battery to run the blades and the wheels.
We hope these tips will help! If not, we would be happy to investigate to see whether your run time would be considered average; please contact Greenworks at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or by chat on www.greenworkstools.com.
