The age of when you received the battery should not greatly impact the life cycle of the battery. It will degrade with use over time like any other battery. The rate of degradation depends on how well the battery is maintained. There are different variables to consider when giving an adequate answer. In optimal conditions batteries should keep almost all of their charge until about 2000 full cycles, after which they will die off quickly.
