Chronographs have been available for a long time, but up until this new Garmin chronograph came along, they were a pain in the butt to use. The old Chrono's were almost more trouble than it was worth to get the information you were after. Not anymore! This new Garmin chronograph is so easy to use, you will be amazed. Just shoot and collect precise information about your loads. And this Garmin does the job without all the little "quirks" the old Chrono's had, making them such a pain. I couldn't be happier. Love it!!
I found the chronograph very easy to use and set up. Screen is big and easily seen. Averages are right in front of you for volocity. I only wish it was capable of giving the kenitic energy averages.
Like most reviews I found the Xero to be easy to set up. I had no problems with the Shot View APP on my phone. My first try I recorded my Ruger .177 pellet rifle. It recorded all 10 shots in 2 strings with different pellets. I was able to load these onto my phone with no problem. As you can see it is a very compact unit. I really not having to go in front of the firing line to place my Xero.
I may look for a bit taller tripod. My position on the pellet gun was too high so I had to put something under the tripod. At the indoor range there was a lip on the bench and again I had to raise it up
I would recommend the Garmin Zero X pro to anyone looking for a compact easy to use chronograph. Make sure you download the Garmin shotview App to your phone and you can have all the ballistic information from your sessions readily available. I used to use pen and paper to record this information, now much handier and easy to access. So much nicer to having to shoot through wire guides or attach anything to the barrel and change barrel harmonics. Never missed a shot during my sessions or failed to record. I would highly recommend, very happy with mine.
