I have used this about 11-12 times already and I have only missed one shot and that was operator error. I shot a sting and put the information in my log book and placed the Garmin back down to run the next string and had it angled a little funny it didn't pick up the first shot (totally my fault not the Chrono) repositioned and picked up the other 4 shots. I have used it for everything from 6.5 Creedmore, 22 Creedmore, 7 SAW, 308 and down to 22lr they all work great. My nephew went with me my second outing and within 25 min of him being back at his house I saw his old Chrono on market place so he could get a Xero also. I think its a winner no doubt.
Compared to my old chronograph the Garmin Xero C1 Pro is light years ahead. It is easy to set up (no more cease fire on the range to get ready), and provides quick accurate results. I like the Bluetooth smart phone interface for organizing and evaluating range sessions. My Android phone synced nicely with the Garmin ShotView program. I would highly recommend this chronograph.
I was hesitant because of the price, but it is so simple and easy to use! A huge leap from what I've used previously. I've used it with several different handgun and rifle cartridges and it captured everything. The app works well and lets you edit information such as adding bullet weight after the fact. It also lets you remove shots if you shot something abnormal that ended up in the middle of your string and would skew your stats. It's super lightweight and compact so you don't won't even notice it in your range bag.
Having used caldwell and Lab Radar this chronograph is an absolute game changer. I've used it for both my bow and rifle. I have yet to have it miss a shot even with others shooting less than 5 feet from me. Having it mounted to the rifle and able to track every shot when changing targets and pushing distance is amazing. When shooting 1400-1780 yds pushing the limits of your caliber it's nice to see real time data. Impact low, shot was 50fps slower than the last shot, it takes the guess work of user error out of the equation.
I have used chronographs from many manufacturers. Until recently they all required laborious activity to set them up and align them with the shooting location, chronograph and target. The X1 eliminates those actions. Turn it on, enter some data, place in your shooting bench and commence firing. Your expected information is calculated and is displayed immediately. Fantastic !
