Great piece of equipment

As a reloader, I used to rely on the printed/electronic data for velocities, which was difficult at times because my barrel length did not match the factory's test barrel, I was shooting at different ambient temperatures, etc.. Having this set up is great because it helps me better understand velocity differences as I am working up loads. Even better, I don't have to set anything up in front of the bench. Much smaller and handier than my old chronograph!
An overused term, game changer, but that's what this is. Chronographs have always been a pain to set up and often avoided for short shooting sessions. Not with this one. Simple and accurate. Set it on the bench with it's included tripod and shoot.
After 35 years using three different "sky screen" chronographs, each progressively better, I thought the Xero C1 was too good to be true. An incredibly small package that sets up in seconds, and fits easily in any shooting bag. I've used it with several rimfire an centerfire handguns and rifles in several weather and light conditions (even though I'd been told that shouldn't matter) and to date, it has yet to fail to record a shot. It's difficult to assess the accuracy, but checking my records against my newest sky screen model, the results are pretty similar and the rimfire measurements match factory specs, with slight deviations as expected with different barrel lengths.
The app for this chrono is great and includes a free-form field to capture info about the gun, weather, load data, etc. Both the chrono and app allow you to enter bullet weight so that energy calculations can be displayed. The app allows you to export the data for use on your PC/laptop, whether just for record keeping or for entry into ballistics apps.
While the price is somewhat higher than the latest sky screen models, this is a case where the size and convenience are worth every single dime - particularly if you use a public shooting range or can't choose your shooting days/times based on perfect lighting conditions.
I've had this for a month or so and it performs perfectly. Mates with my phone so I don't have to bother with the unit once I set it in place. Immediate access to my data for any change I may need to my rifle. I've been shooting for 70 plus years and this is a dream come true for my long range shooting.
