Outstanding Radar Chronograph
on November 6, 2024

This is my first chronograph. I had bought a Magnetospeed several years back but it was just too much of a hassle to use and returned it within a week. I looked into a friend's Labradar but that was also too complicated and bulky for my taste. The Xero is definitely none of the above. It was simple to place into operation and quite intuitive. I did not even refer to the manual even the first time I played with it. My friend with the Labradar said he always had to refer to the manual for setup. (He's now putting up his Labradar for sale). The Xero was up and running with a few push of some buttons and from what I can see, provided accurate readings. The display is easy to see and love the connection to the app and the ability to export the information by CSV file. The compactness is the other feature I love about it. I don't need to haul another case or container to the range. I'm just using an old pocket camera case I had lying around and the radar, tripod, charging cable and AC plug fits right in and goes into a side pocket of my range bag. Great job overall Garmin!

Small, accurate, easy to use. Garmin knocked it out if the park! The chronograph nearly perfected.

High quality. Small size. Very accurate and easy to use. The fact that it is rechargeable is a big plus.

Great little product!

I have been involved with chronographs foe over 45 years so I am quite familiar with the capabilities and little quirks of the different designs. This little unit is the premier of them all so far. It has not missed a shot in over 300 rounds. It has been compared side by side with a couple of other types and the accuracy is spot on. Based upon the performance if this unit two of my shooting friends have also purchased one even though they already had chronographs. The export software could use a little help though.

This chrono is fantastic! It's a little spendy but well worth the money. I can chrono just about anything and the best part is how easy it is to set up. You literally turn it on, press a couple buttons and set it on the bench. Then start shootin. Probably the best chrono out there. Much easier to work with than my magneto speed v3.

Great Chronograph

I've used this chronograph several times at the range trying to dial in my reloading recipes. It was very easy to setup and use at the range. It was easy to track ballistic information for multiple bullet calibers and weights. While this device can be used by any level of shooter, it is best for someone looking to hone the ballistics on their ammunition. The app allows you to record multiple sessions at the range and allows for editing the session information for clearer ballistic recording.

I have used light sensing chronos and another large radar sensing unit. The LSC unit was ok for it's time, but difficult to set up and unreliable in certain lighting conditions. My friend has the large radar unit and it was confusing to use, had short battery life, and is awkward to set up. The Garmin Xero is simple to set up, takes up very little space, menus are easy to navigate, and it's very accurate. On day one it took no time to navigate the menu. It sets right on the bench within a 15" radius behind the muzzle. No need for a cease fire to set it up! Once you set it up for your firearm, just shoot and see the data or check it at the end of the string of shots. No need to keep pressing buttons to keep recording. Also, you can download the app and sync it to your phone. It gives me all the info that I need to work up loads and do ballistic calculations. The battery life is amazing. I have spent hours at the range on multiple days without recharging it. I have yet to figure out how far I can go before the battery dies. My only complaint that they don't include a small hard case for it, but that's me. I found a 6"x4.5"x2.5" hard sided zip case for it that I outfitted with some foam to fit the unit and the tripod. I just toss it in my range bag and never leave at home. All things aside, Garmin hit this one out of the park with accuracy, ease of use, reliability, and size. I would definitely buy it again or recommend it anyone.
