I bought this in November 2024 and have used it about a dozen times since. It shows velocities that I believe to be higher than actual based on the ballistics charts. I purchased Hand loads that had a muzzle velocity rating of 2708 fps. I measured about 30 separate velocities with the Garmin unit which showed 2820 fps as an average velocity with a standard deviation of less than 12. When I dialed my reticle at 600 yds, I was 7-8” below the target. When I plugged in the 2708fps from the box, I was forced to go up 5 clicks which put me right on target. I believe the unit is reading higher than actual, based on the ballistics calculator.

Thank you for your review and experience with the Xero C1 Pro. We would like to discuss this further over email. If you would please email us at product.support@garmin.com.
So easy to use. Compact and light. No adverse effects on groups like I had with another brand that strapped to the muzzle. Used it for pistol and rifle load testing on my first trip out with this. Love it!
I have used this on three different rifles now and all as expected results and never missed a shot, with zero setup time and great features expensive but great piece of kit.
I've used the Garmin twice in an indoor range for pistol cartridges. It picks up about 50% of the shots. The range has 6 lanes and each time 3 other lanes were in use and the other shooters did not effect the Garmin. A warning appeared on the screen stating that there was noise, hvac, fans.. that was causing interference it still operated. Used it 1 time outside to chronograph a pellet gun and it worked flawless. I have an old style chronograph where you measure 10 feet from the gun muzzle to place the chronograph and the Garmin I set it next to me. It's Great!!! So easy to use. I downloaded the app on my phone and it works great. I would definitely purchase again.
This little piece of magic is the winner. No more clumsy setups of the older variety chrono's. It's easy to pack in the range bag and setup is a breeze. Forget the others just go pick one up and you will agree. Simple, easy and well worth the bucks. You can buy it for your wife as a present. Then explain to her how much more your safety is improved shooting ammo that is more matched to your pistol or rifle. It may not work with her idea of a present but you just never know till you try. Every shooter needs to know at the least, bullet speed, not only from the designated speed on the factory box of ammo but what speeds you get if you reload.
