I bought this chronograph to replace my Magneto Speed and an old type Caldwell light bar chrono. So far I'm extremely pleased with the performance of the Xero. Easy setup, easy read out and the recorded speed matches well with the Magneto Speed as far as I was able to verify. The synchronizing with the phone could be a bit faster but the app for the phone works very well without any crashes. I can highly recommend the Xero because of it's accurate measuring, ease of set up and the fact that it is not dependent on a light source or has to be attached to a barrel.
I have wanted a good chronograph for load development for quite some time. When I saw Garmin had a new one coming out I was early to buy one. No disappointment, Garmin delivers a great product that works better than advertised.
Garmin has made using a chronograph so very easy!!! Just set it on the shooting bench close to the barrel and shoot. Results go to an app on your phone!
I have used other chronos with screens, and found them to be a real pain to setup, and often a cloudy day would yield wildly different results. I purchased the Garmin Chrono a little over a month ago, after a buddy demonstrated his, at the range. I was super impressed at his, and two days later had my own. I setup the Chrono on a spare spotting scope tripod, as it provided a little more height and stability than the Garmin one included in the box, although for most purposes, the Garmin one worked just fine. I wanted the extra height so that I could position it a little easier for pistol distanced.
Even more than just displaying the shots on the screen, I absolutely love that it will blue tooth to my phone, shoe me the averages, and even let me send it out so I can put it in Excel. A little expensive, bu worth every penny!
I’ve owned this unit for about 3 months now. I’ve used it more in that time than any other chrono I’ve ever owned.
I’ve been long range shooting for over 40 years now. Owned several generations of “state of the art” chronographs over that time.
This unit is by far the easiest to use, most portable and every bit as accurate or better than anything I’ve used before. I’ve checked the data against brand L & brand M and found so little difference that it’s statistically insignificant.
The zero comes with me to the range 2-4 times a week. (What can I say, I’m retired so it’s shooting or golfing. It’s a tough life!)
I have even taken it to a west TX hunt and used it to verify speeds while checking zero before the hunt. So easy so why not?
I have already sold both my other chronos and will likely get another Xero to add to my travel kit.
I have wanted a chronograph for a long time but with missed shots long set up time and accuracy I didn’t buy one. When I saw the Garmin XERO C1 PRO I had to have one you can be recording shots in a matter of seconds it has never missed a shot so far. There is no reason not to take it to the range very time you go. It even recorded every shot from a pellet rifle. For me it was well worth the price!
