The Staples brand "standard" sticky notes work well with ballpoint pens (roll smoothly) fine tip perm. markers (no bleed) and keep their "stick" after several lifting and re-sticking on a document.
We use them every day and find them working great!

These pads work just as well as the name brand and are much less expensive. Thanks Staples!

When 'Stickies' first came on the market they would Stick to almost all surfaces. Over the years the stickiness has decreased therefore their usefulness has decreased. People buy an item because of its representation. A 'Sticky' says it will stick to almost any surface. When it sticks for a few minutes and then falls to the floor their thinking about the product starts to change. When it has a companies name attached to it their thoughts associates the poor quality of the item to the store. Now the company has two strikes against it. The poor quality item and their stores are starting to poor quality merchandise. The customer now looks for a better quality item and if they find it in another store they will put their trust where quality is found. A company that sells quality products at a reasonable competitive price will entice its customers to return before looking else-ware.
