The fact that I'm taking time to review writing pads should tell you something. I love these heavyweight pads because the paper takes rollerball ink wonderfully and everything looks sharp on it. They have substance and very low bleed-through. Worth the money!

I love the bluish color as it is easy on the eyes. The narrow ruled is fine and I don't even mind the place for the date in the upper left corner those as others have mentioned it is not a necessity. The backing is my favorite. The firmness of the board is really fabulous. I think heavy duty is the new standard for me.
