This Stuff Is Awesome

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I honestly wasn’t sure if this would be enough to fix the roof rack on my car. But it was PERFECT! Blends in and holds strong. Like if I had just replaced it with a new piece. It’s exposed to the weather and is holding up like a champion.

My expectations were too high.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried this tape for a few things around the house to see if it came close to being the amazing product I had seen used in the Flex Tape commercials. Long story short, it's not. If I hadn't had high expectations for this tape, maybe it wouldn't have been such a let down, but I was expecting an "emergency, fix anything in a jam" type product & this wasn't it. Maybe under ideal weather conditions, with the perfect material leaking and on a perfectly clean flat surface this tape would have performed... but If I had that I could have just used a $3 tube of silicone.
I have an older garden hose that had gotten a pinhole leak and tried out the Flex Tape on that. No dice. I cleaned the hose well and applied the tape when it was dry. It looked like a good seal with no wrinkles or air bubbles. Water leaked from under both ends of the tape once the water was turned back on.
I tried it on a section of gutter where the seam had a small leak. This seemed to work somewhat. Again, I cleaned and dried the area and applied the Flex Tape making sure there were no air bubbles. I put the hose in the gutter and watched for water to drip down to my flower bed. It still dripped. Maybe less than before, but it wasn't sealed like I had hoped.
I guess my biggest disappointment with this tape is how messy it is. It's crazy sticky and leaves a real mess wen you remove it. Flex Seal claims to be for temporary fixes or for an emergency, but with the mess you get left with it's hard to make a proper repair after it's been used.
One thing this tape did work for was to seal a slow air leak in the valve on my inflatable paddle board. This tape does make a really good gasket material. It's thick enough that I was able to use a piece almost like a rubber washer in between the two pieces of the bulkhead and I was able to tighten the bulkhead and seal up the air leak.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Perfect product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tape works great. I've used it a couple times on leaks and it's still holding. I like the jumbo size, we have plenty of tape and can ration it out easily. Even used it on a boat leak and it worked wonders

Didn’t stop leak

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a leak in a drip sprinkler system and I thought this would be the perfect easy fix. It’s not the easiest product to work with as the glue is extremely strong and difficult to cut. Even with the very strong glue I wrapped my busted drip line and it didn’t stop the leak. Removed twice and tried 3 different times in various width and positions but it never worked. Very bummed out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had a leak in my gutter that was causing water to leak into my house through a door frame. I tried a few sprays that promised to fix leaks to no success. Put this tape on and it was instantly fixed! Great product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Impressive how strong this tape is. I used it for a temporary fix on a kayak. It may become a permanent solution. After 2 trips out there are still no leaks and is stuck as good as day one. This tape was wide enough to cover the gouge with one piece and I put one piece inside and one on the outside. I trust this stuff from now on!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the flex tape large for a job I was doing and I needed it to seal up flashing around a pipe I put in for a smoker and it worked amazing no water entered into the wall it worked just as it says it would with the thick rubber backing it made it a little difficult to wrap in a circular pattern but what's not hard to but with a little work it went on and worked great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very useful tape. We used it to patch the pool and I used it to cover a hole in the side of my shop where there used to be a chimney for a wood burning stove. The tape is wide enough, it only took one strip, so no seams to leak. It has flex to it so it conforms to where you put it, and believe me, it sticks and sticks tight.
I would recommend this to a friend!
