I’ve used Staples brand roll-on for about 4 years now and have gone through dozens of both the permanent and non-permanent dispensers. I use them for a photo process involving ultra-thin delicate paper. Staples recently changed suppliers of this item and it is completely different. The tension is set too high while the roller is too small which ultimately means that an incredible amount of force has to be applied to the surface to pinch the adhesive tape enough for it to release more adhesive onto the work piece. I have to make many passes to apply a simple line of adhesive. The clear dispenser with white tape is total garbage. Bring back the high quality yellow ones. They were terrific products.

The tape disconnected from the roll and I had to improvise to use it to the end. Otherwise the glue works great and the price is right.

I purchased two of these because the store was out of the Scotch brand. The first one jammed after 4 small strips were used. The 2nd one worked OK. The holding power appears to be about 1/4th of the Scotch brand. I had to reglue everything I used the Staples brand on.
