Quality going downhill

I have used these envelopes for years and the quality has been acceptable in the past but for the last year or so the envelope quality has been going downhill. They are not fully glued together. The bottom flap that makes the pocket of the envelope is not always securely attached to the sides and the glue on the closing flap is sparse and spotty making it sometimes impossible to get a good seal without some tape. I will be considering alternatives when it comes time to re-order.

envelopes used to forward sensitive communications; gummed flap does not seal easily to protect communications; would prefer envelopes to be available in peel-and-stick format

Not As Shown-Staples Gummed Left Window Security-Tint #10

Purchased this product instead of my usual #10 envelopes (Item #121632) because of a downgrade from 24# to a flimsier 22# paper. This heavier weight product (Item #918161) also claims to have a "commercial" flap which I assumed looked like the picture (silly me). It has a "V" flap; not the rounded flap shown in the photo. I don't need a security tint but I justified the increased cost to get the heavier weight and the preferred flap (easier to seal and will go through a meter if necessary). Not happy having to use 1000 envelopes that are not what I thought they would be!

Envelope windows not consistent

The address window in the envelope is not at a consistent height. We've had letters returned because address could not be read. (Using standard size QB checks). We have to tape each check in place to make sure in stays in the envelope window correctly. Don't buy these if you don't want extra work or returned letters.
