Pretty cool for older elementary age

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Colourwhirls were pretty cool. My 9yo was super excited to try these and said they were fun. However, they were a little tricky to get to spin well and if it bounced it splattered the marker a little. It was a fun activity and played about an hour!

Cool toy but some setup required

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the concept of this product, and when my boys were able to get it working, they had a great time with it. My 10-year-old had no problem using it on his own, but my 5-year-old did struggle a bit with the setup. One tricky part for both of them was getting the handle off fast enough for it to spin freely. Overall, it's a fun idea, but the mechanics could be a bit easier to handle.

Colourwhirls spin and twirl

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were very excited about this product. I have a 5 and 8 year old. It took quite a bit for us to get it to work. When we did, it was pretty disappointing. It did not twirl like a top as pictured or at least we could not get it to. It was fun to put together, but not something we would use very often. Pretty disappointing.

Thanks for sharing your experience with Crayola ColourWhirls. We think you are on a whirl, but it might take a little more practice! Here’s a tip: the harder and faster you pull the ripcord, the better the spin and twirl. It can take a couple tries, but once you get the hang of it, the swirls should pop! Be sure to check out some more pro-techniques for rippin', spinnin' fun, here: https://www.crayola.com/colourwhirls. Happy creating! -Taylor, Colorful Care Team

Really cute toy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really fun toy. We used a box to spin them into because they kept rolling onto the floor or rolling off the paper. Luckily the Ultra Clean Markers are really easy to clean. My children ages 6 and 8 really enjoyed playing with these. It does take some trial and error to get the tops spinning well. We adjusted our rip cord speed and the amount of marker that sticks out the bottom.

Runaway Markers!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A cross between a spiral graph and a scribble bot but with the speed of a top.
It took a few times practicing with my 6yr old so I recommend trying without the marker loaded at first. It is not the best toy for inside, especially if you have a carpet. Lesson learned.
Perhaps putting your piece of paper down inside a box and then letting it go will help. Otherwise, it’s a good toy but I wouldn’t buy or give as a gift. Appreciate the fact that it works the same for lefties as it does for righties.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Things can get pretty wild with this one...it is possible to spin it and have it largely remain on the paper but not for littles. We ended up putting it in a bin but a box would work awesome too. My boys are so competitive so we've played this a bunch of different ways. Longest spin time, farthest spin, smallest design, largest design we've even played without the markers as a battle type situation. I was very surprised at the variety of ways my kids came up with to entertain themselves.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These were a little difficult to figure out at first, but once we got started we ended up playing with them for hours! I have a three year old, so we ended up using the color wonder mess free markers on the special paper that works with color wonder items. I used the markers that came with the kit, but they were a little messy for my three year old. Once everything is together, the swirls, circles, and other fun designs are a lot of fun to make! We had a competition to see who could make the longest swirl. It was fun! Again the set up was a little rough, but the outcome is so worth it!
