I was looking for the old paper only packaging tape but this one seems to have a water resistant finish. I think it's a great improvement.

Too much product for what I needed

The post office told me I needed PAPER packing tape so they could ink stamp it without it wiping off. This was labeled PAPER tape. It was not. It was shiny and ink stamps would wipe off it so I could not use it at the post office.

I ship a lot of packages since I sell on [@]. Figured this was a good deal. Worked for the first side of one box then the tape just stuck to itself and had to manually peel it away to get to sticky side. Not worth it will buy name brand next time!

This tape is fairly useless. I bought it to build a cardboard box fort with my kid and most of the tape lost it's adhesion to the cardboard and to itself within a day. We ended up having to rebuild using a different type of tape a few days later. It did however do a great job of sticking to the floor and to the furniture and then promptly tearing when I tried to remove it. Stay away from this. It's trash and a waste of time.

Staples Paper Packaging Tape w Dispenser

I have used this tape many times and it is my first choice for most lightweight shipping on used cartons. It is very useful for covering old labels to "clean up" the appearance of a re-used box and it's much easier to use than a tape gun dispenser. I have had to return one roll for replacement due to defective adhesive. If you find one like that return it for exchange and give it another try. Some isolated batches may not be manufactured correctly or are stored in humid locations. I do not try to write on it but use just for sealing.

The surface side is too waxy. Ordinary pen or stamp mark cannot adhere to the surface easily. Not too suitable for sending registered mail through USPS as the Postal clerk has to put security stamp marks on the tap and package surface.

What I really wanted was plastic not paper tape but could not find any that was brown. All the plastic packing tape is clear. This fits the bill however it is thicker than I needed.
