I wanted this to help me read a book with small print when my eyes got tired. The problem is it is unhandy to try to balance an 8 x10 magnifier and a book at the same time. So for my purpose it doesn't work very well.

I might recommend this. It has lines in it which I believe magnify the page. However they seem to make it difficult to see some type. Try it out before you buy it.
