A Value Shipping Tape - Quality Varies

This product can vary from medium thickness strength to very light. If light we use double the amount to secure a package. However it is still less expensive than purchasing 3M branded tape. If you are willing to put up with variations in quality this is a good choice. The price has increased from about $37 a few years ago to now over $53 per box which has removed it from the "super value" category. If you seek a high quality tape then this is not the selection you should make. The focus is VALUE.

Staples Packing Tape

I have tried many different packing tapes for my business where we ship a lot of packages a day. Most tapes we have tried split and tear or are just inferior to this brand. This is the only brand we now buy consistently because of the quality...We have used this tape for over 5 years and do not anticipate ever changing! Its quality we can count on:)

This tape is a waist of money and time. Takes to much time and patients to find the end of roll to start with. Breaks easily and then sometimes impossible to get started again causing you to have to throw the majority of roll away.

We use a lot of packing tape and even though the Staples store is across the street I only buy this tape in an emergency because it is horrible it 2 major ways. 1> it is extremely hard to start big waste of precious time in a business to pay someone 3 to 5 minutes if we are lucky vs 10 seconds max for other manufacturers tape 2> it stinks the adhesive I assume smells terrible and nobody wants to use it.

Don't buy this tape!

Poor adhesion. Gets stuck in the dispenser. Folds onto itself from the dispenser. Who knows if it holds any weight. Just don't buy it. Usually I am completely satisfied with any item from Staples- I never write reviews but this tape is so horrible - I had to warn everyone. I just threw out the case and ordered a new case of Scotch Brand: Item 795570 . I've purchased other Staples brand tape in the store which worked out great but the 'standard grade' is so thin and flimsy with such a tiny amount of glue that you're just wasting your money.
