The TITANIC is back! But in Lego.

I LOVE IT SO MUCH I was a titanic lover for 9 years and this year is my 9th year of loving it. I got it for Christmas last year so as soon as mom said we could open the gifts I opened this one first and I need to say It Is HUGE. I love it so much. I would recommend it.

Beautiful set, but w/quality issues

I've half way through the build of the titanic set and I'm very impressed so far - except for some annoying quality issues. The first box included three incorrect length strings. Two were too long (for the funnel) and once was too short (for the mast). I was able to swap one of the too-short strings for one that was too long so the net result is I have one funnel string on the bow section of the ship that is way too long. There was also a step in the instructions (step 40, book 2) that depicts a 6x1 gray piece as part of that step, but its missing from the visual display of pieces needed for that step. The following step shows two 6x1 gray pieces, but only one is needed. Minor detractor and not too hard to figure out, but cost me an extra few minutes to determine if the instructions were wrong or if I was missing something (usually when I'm confused its the latter). Looking forward to finishing this build and maybe I'll get lucky and the incorrect strings will offset each other and save me from having to work with customer service to get the right parts.

Awesome set

I was so excited when this set was finally in stock to be purchase again. As soon as it arrived, I started building! Reading different reviews I was prepared in knowing the strings on the first smoke stack were to big. I put the rest of the set together to see if there was any other missing pieces. All I had was 1 piece missing for the outside area. I was able to put in a missing piece request and Lego had it set to me within 2 weeks. Awesome build and can't wait for the next big set!

Amazing product

I received this lego as a present for Christmas. I began building it and in one of the first 4 bags there was 2 missing pieces. No problem, IL just retort it and get new ones shipped and move on because it is one of the last deck pieces. Then in bag 10 I have another piece that is missing so now I have to wait 7-10 bisness days to get a replacement. Let's hope that it comes in before I go back to school. Other than that it has been fun to build.

An engineering marvel, like the actual Titanic

You look at photos of this set. You see YouTube reviews and try to compare it to people. You even measure out how large it is to try to get a sense of scale.
None of that does this LEGO Titanic justice.
Your journey of amazement and enjoyment starts the moment you hold the enormous package in your hands. Split into three sections, it is exciting to see how this set gradually grows into its true size. Before buying this set, I watched so many reviews and knew so much about this LEGO set, but when building it, it did not fail to surprise me. The genius building techniques really give an exceptionally great experience to construct.
In the instructions, they give pieces of information about the actual ship to stop you from building and remind you of the greatness the Titanic carried.
When putting the entire ship together for the first time, it is very difficult to comprehend its gargantuan scale. This scale allows for so many microscale details that this does not even appear as a LEGO set. A genius mechanism allows for the ship to be modular and be easily taken apart, but also allows for the set to be incredibly sturdy when all together.
I shall not tell you everything about this set, as that is for you to find out. The pricing is high, but if you can afford it and have space for it, buy it. Let it set sail on your shelf for everyone to behold.
