so i bought this set as my first (since childhood) lego build set. If you have any sense of introspection, ignore the negative voices when buying this set because it’s a great set, it goes together like, well, Legos. The instructions are pretty clear, the booklets are well illustrated and while I have not looked I am sure there are multiple YouTube videos if you get stuck. Now, to be perfectly clear - i am on the first box (3 boxes - imagine the ship in 3 parts, one part per box) and only on brick packet 3 but it is going well and i am only doing a packet per day, taking a photo of each step for a slideshow at the end. I have a bookshelf picked out for the final setting as well.
A gift for my 12 yr old grandson. He started the Titanic on Sat afternoon and did box 1 so far. Has been. Wanting this kit.for over a year. So glad I was able to buy it
Great set, 3 boxes each with a huge instruction book and over 3000 bricks. Only drawback being it's hard to keep the book at an angle (to reduce glare) because it's so thick but that's definitely not a deal breaker. Very fun by yourself or like I did and I built box 1, my son built box 2 and box 3 is for us both. Fun to build, beautiful to look at, very detailed and there are fun facts throughout the instruction books.
It was fun to build, surprisingly fun in fact. The engine and the tiny windows could be a bit tedious, but otherwise quite nice. The string was thankfully stud-connected, so no tying required. Absolutely massive though, so do keep that in mind if you intend to buy this, you will need a large area to display it.
My son is towards the end of building the second section and is missing quite a few pieces from his packaging. He is unable to complete this section.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Oh no! We know it's disappointing when your build isn’t going as planned. Please give us a call or chat at LEGO.build/Service-BV so we can get your son the parts he needs requested!
