An amazing build - once in a lifetime

As a long-time hobbyist regarding the Titanic and also Lego, this was an amazing opportunity to satisfy both interests at once. I documented all 46 steps of the build on my Instagram @eadevereux. It took me about 3 weeks, mostly on the evenings and weekends, to complete the ship. Every step was a great building experience while also filling out my knowledge of the actual Titanic. The working engines with connections to the outboard propellers are an incredible detail. I have only a few complaints. First, the organizing design principle of the original Titanic was its watertight compartments and doors, and this build pretty much ignores them altogether. Second, I would have liked at least one more boiler room and better representation of the coal bunkers (e.g., a space to be filled with black 1x1 plates and studs to represent coal). But I'm sure better builders than me will post modifications online to remedy these issues. I would buy this again without hesitation. And the boxes alone are such works of art I haven't yet decided what to do with them (the outer box and the three inner boxes).

Where do I begin… this set is incredible! I have always been obsessed with the Titanic and it’s unfortunate history. When I heard LEGO was producing a titanic set, I knew I had to go to the Lego store on release day a few hours early to secure one.
This set is truly a work of art. From its amazing building techniques, to the overall shape and every little detail, this set will not disappoint. This is by far the most expensive Lego set purchase for myself (second being the roller coaster). I generally collect the Modular buildings and fairground, but I couldn’t resist on this set. The interior details are a fabulous touch, and the engines are super cool as well.
The set took me 3 days to build, approximately 23 hours in total. If you are even considering getting this set, do it! You will not be disappointed. This is by far my favorite Lego set I own, and I am super excited to see what’s next from Lego!

A Great Tribute to the Queen of the Ocean

This set was a no brainer for me. I have been obsessed with Titanic since the 6th grade and have been building Lego almost as long. When I saw this set, I knew I had to have it.
I only received it today and have only completed the first bag, but I can already tell that this will be my new favorite set (Sorry '89 Batmobile).
To see the bow of the Titanic take shape and begin to see the form come out, is simply an amazing thing. There are some interesting building techniques used that I have never seen before.
It is evident from the packaging and detail of the set, that this was a labor of love on the part of Lego.
I know that it is an expensive set and that may keep some away. However, considering the size and detail of this set, I do not regret spending the money for this set. I think this will quickly become a signature set and a much desired one among collectors and enthusiast.
If you love Lego, Titanic, or just iconic builds, you need this set in your collection. Pay attention to the dimensions and make sure you have the space to display it.
This is, indeed, a fantastic tribute to the Queen of the Ocean.

Huge display piece!

This is the best Lego set I have built in a very long time. It is very impressive and the details are outstanding. If you want a substantial Expert Lego set and are a Titanic enthusiast this is definitely the one for you.

Titanic sails again

A beautifully done set. HUGE. Intricate details. Mostly simplistic building steps and sequences. I consider myself an expert builder but it took me much longer than other reviewers to build about 24 ish hours total for me but I digress. It is somewhat repetitive but hey thats how ships are designed on the inside. The stern section offered my only challenge in that the rudder turned out to not be totally solid- at least in my opinion and the way it attaches to the ship can be problematic when moving the stern section about to do the construction. Attaching the sections together and getting the propeller shafts to connect all at the same time can be tricky but not undoable. Over all a great set . I have always held a fascination with story/ history of Titanic and this set kept it afloat. Finding a display place big enough may be the biggest challenge.

Great variety for such a big set!

I am building this one after just finishing the Colluseum. While that set was very repetitive and boring, the Titanic is a fun and varied build. I'm about 5/6 of the way through and I've enjoyed every moment. The completed sections are quite sturdy and feel very solid. For such a high piece count, they manage to keep it interesting. I can't wait to display this in my home!

I’m a huge fan of the Titanic, it’s story and the history behind her. Once I saw this Lego set, I had to have it. Having received it, I couldn’t wait to start constructing it. From start to finish, it took me 6 days at about 3-4 hours a night. Build was very straightforward and very unique in a few ways. The finished product is truly amazing. There are some details that don’t line up exactly with the actual ship, but to do what Lego has done here, I have nothing but respect. This is amazing to display and when I look at it I feel extremely proud of it. Thank you for allowing me to have the opportunity to build such a wonderful set to represent such a beautiful historical time piece. I love it!
