As a visually impaired person I utilize the voice commands through Alexa and it works seamlessly and I’m very appreciative of that. The first sharp microwave I purchased from Amazon was faulty called sharp and the customer representative was very helpful and sent me a new microwave with 3-5 days of the call & was very pleasant, kind, as well as helpful. For that every time I search for a new appliance or product , I will be searching to find out if sharp has the product before I go anywhere else .
Alexa support is great. I especially appreciate the ability to turn the audible signals off to make it quiet, as I have a hearing sensitivity issue. On that topic, though, the door is very loud when it closes. It would be nice if it were both easier to close and quieter in that respect. Also, I'd prefer a standard door handle rather than a push button to open the door. Since I have arthritis in my hands, I'd prefer a handle without a trigger mechanism. Just a traditional handle that one grips and pulls to open, and pushes to close. Finally, from time to time Alexa tells me it can't start the microwave because it says the door is open when it is actually closed. This is annoying and seems to be a bug. Otherwise, your product is wonderful. The inverter technology is great.
I purchaed this new microwave to replace the same model that lasted 23yrs, because of an inoperative display. Other than that the microwave still functioned. A good and well made product. Very reliable.
The inverter technology of this microwave intrigued me. I used a wattmeter to check input power vs. power settings. At least as far as input power indicates, it does ramp up as the power setting increases. Not the "bang-bang" duty-cycle heat control of older microwaves. But I measured closer to 1700W input power at full power rather than the 1250W input power rating on the label. Nice microwave and I'm happy with my purchase, but I think Underwriter's Labs wants a word with you, Sharp.
4 of 5 stars. Nice and quiet yet powerful and efficient. I love everything about this microwave EXCEPT that I have to press "Time Cook" before I enter the cook time. I'd like to be able to push 1-3-0 or 9-0 then "Start" for a minute and a half without pressing "Time Cook" first. The "Express cook" buttons (that most microwaves have) are a useless feature in my opinion.
