[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased clear shipping labels from Avery for a test run of my tea of the month club box. I wanted to send samples to some of my most loyal customers to gain feedback on the new product. I couldn't have been happier about how the labels turned out. When running a small business can be hard, hard, hard, it is nice to know that Avery is always a WIN!!
I bought these to put on some jars, they are a washed out opaque. To me clear means you can see through it. The finish was so horrible that the writing was illegible. I honestly thought that there was a covering label or something on it. Avery is usually good, but the Matte Clear is a failure.
The new sure feed technology is horrible. I print and feed one sheet at a time, trying to make these easier to use. The blue strip constantly comes off in the printer and gets stuck inside, jamming up the printer. I use a lot of these labels for my products and have wasted tons of time and labels because these don’t feed well at all through my printer. It is very frustrating.
We do apologize for any confusion but our standard "Clear" labels are generally intended for lighter surfaces and should appear clear once applied. However, we do also have "Glossy Clear" labels that will be completely clear and would be a better option for transparent surfaces or surfaces that have color. If you would like suggestions for a glossy clear product you can reach our consumer care team with the "Help" section above and clicking the "Contact Us" link.
I use these labels on my soap products. They have great adhesion and are perfectly sized. The labels on my soap and my lotions now look more professional and my sales have increased since use. My only complaint is that I have to use the Microsoft Word template to get them to print properly. The online label builder doesn't align correctly.
