What's the difference between the 420 sponge (discontinued) and the 425 sponge (replacement)? The 420 was great. It stayed together and the green scratchy pad actually scratched. Cleaned the stainless steel sink wonderfully. The 425 - no so good. No good stuff in that section.
What's a replacement for the 420 scratchy section that I could buy separately?

4/7/2021. I have been buying these sponges for years. Recently I decided to buy them in the bulk package instead of the small 3 in-a-pack. I am Very disappointed. The bulk package sponges are about 1/3 thinner than the regular sponges. Same brand, same sponge but definitely thinner on the yellow part!!!

I’m not sure about all the negative reviews, but I’ve used these sponges for years and years and never had any issues with quality. I like these for clean up because one side is for scrubbing, and the other is for general cleaning. I like that one sponge can be used for multiple uses also. I will continue to buy these until I experience my own quality issues.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Still very poor qualty

I have the same problems with these Scotch Brite Heavy Duty scrub sponges in Canada as reported here 4 years ago thinking it was due to a Canadian manufacturing issue. Now I can see this a long standing and similar problem that is not just here in Canada. We have been and using Scotch Brite kitchen sponges for decades, I do not what happened but they just literally fall apart in 5-7 days - is this 3M's planned obsolescence strategy to sell more product? Or are you just trying to kill this product line.

Poor quality on wave-shaped sponge!

I have used this sponge for decades. Suddenly the rectangle gets replaced with the wave shape. One sponge used to last me about three weeks. The wave shape is lasting about 3 days. It is thinner and much less dense. Sadly, I will have to look for another brand.

I have used theses sponges for decades, and the quality has never been as poor as they are now. One sponge used to last me for about three weeks, and now they start to deteriorate within days. Sadly, I can no longer purchase these sponges. If Scotch Brite returns to the sponges they made several years ago, then I will buy them again.

Horrible black spotted sponges

I bought scotch brite heavy duty sponges scrub dots and when i opened them they had black stains on them. Obviously a defect in manufacturing them.
