After a bit of practice, I am comfortable using it and it is simple to use. I really like the pinpoint feature! It is very helpful in narrowing down the target location. I took it out for the first time and went to an old area of town and found a coin spill! This metal detector is perfect for what I need.
I borrowed a Garrett Ace 250 from a good friend and fired it up on the afternoon of February 4, 2025. It was my first time to touch a metal detector, much less use one. My first find was the "dreaded aluminum." My second find came a few minutes later, which was a "Wild West" sheriff's badge lost by previous owners of our home in rural Parker County Texas. My next three finds were Memorial pennies, followed by a knife blade, hilt and much other junk. I was hooked in an hour of poking around my home, listening for hits with the 250. I am 75 and wish I had discovered this most enjoyable diversion many years ago. While in CO visiting my 97 year old mother, last week, she asked if I'd like to take an old White's Goldmaster II home to tinker with. I did, and I am! Thanks for the introduction to the fascinating world of metal detecting, Garrett!!
