We were living in the Dark Ages. Just struggling along with our old pc which was way overdue to upgrade. But I can't believe the speed and operation of our new one. Click ..it's on...and everything is at your fingertips.
I love this laptop. It works well for my CAD/CAM processes. The laptop itself does exactly what I need to get my work done. However, every time I get on there are a million pop ups. I do not want to buy more HP products, I do not want to renew my MCcaffee....If there is something you think I need send me an e-mail. I am working....I do not want to sit and read through all of your pop ups to filter through the necessary. Honestly I do not look at any of them. I close them. Get them out of my way so I can work. If you send me an e-mail every now and then with options they would get more attention.
I bought this Laptop to replace my wife's old one that was five years old and always short on storage space. This computer had 2TB of SSD and a better/faster processor. We also downsized from a 17 inch to 16, she spends a lot of time researching family genealogies. The only negative, we found and we found some work arounds, was the Intel graphics card. Trying to get the fonts and icons to accommodate or 75-year-old eyes, was a challenge. My computer has a NDIVIA graphic and the options are much more granular. She been using it for a couple of months and has adapted.
I purchased this laptop during the black Friday sale on 11/25. It did not ship until Dec 22nd and my son barely got it in time for Christmas. I read reviews on how these laptops were touchscreen and great and my son's is neither.
This purchase has not been easy one. The computer took almost 6 weeks to get to me and the set up has not worked yet. The battery won't charge so I have not even been able to use it. I'm not aa computer repair person but I did not expect to start out with a new computer that is suppose to be the top of the line and have all these problems. I can't even get it register to use the warrenty.
So far using this laptop has been pretty smooth running. I was able to transfer all my accounts over from google and microsoft. Mostly have been using it for school, running google chrome with a few tabs always open, for the 1st month no lag yet. I have run some single player games which have been perfectly fine, I have yet to try out higher demanding games like Genshin Impact and Valorant. Overall a month in using it, rate it a 8.5/10.
Set up process not quite as easy as it should be. I still can't get itunes to play through the headphone jack. It looks like I have to chose headphones or speakers when my prior HP's automatically detected headphones and matched volume controls to the device.
The power cord plugs into a stupid spot that blocks the rest of the ports. The power cord itself is so stiff that when it's plugged in it forms a large loop and gets in the way of the mouse. The track pad is so large and near the keyboard that it gets hit when I type. These 3 things are very poor design. Other than that it's just a normal laptop.
