Great easy build

This was a very simple build but looks awesome and the design is solid. Great for beginners and experts alike. Experts will have a shelf piece that represents the style and engineering that lego is known for. Beginners get ready to buy more after this.

My First Ideas set

I saw this Lego set already built at a clients' house and immediately fell in love. I haven't played with Lego since I was a little kid and I had no sets of my own. My partner gave this set to me for my 53rd birthday. The only other Lego set I had at this point was one of the Log Cabins. Being a complete newbie at these new, more complex Lego sets, it took me longer than the average 12 year old to put this together. I loved it so much I bought a second one recently so I could build it again in the future. It's intricate, it's fun and it's really nice to display.

Surprisingly Good!

I got this set more as a desire to build something versus a desire to build THIS. However, after it's been on my shelf for a while, I've come to realize I'm darned impressed. The stand is a piece of art unto itself, with a movable compass, printed globes (which happen to be mini-earths!), and a well-adorned plaque reading "Leviathan". The bottle is well made, combining some very clever techniques to make a base and symmetrical build. The design of using normal square and rectangular plates on the bottle in order to lock it into the stand is also very clever. The cork is a little extravagant for my tastes, but I think it adds a good flair to the overall build. The actual ship is very nice; its three masts allow for some movement and manipulation, and I think the loose studs around it are a good choice for water design. For me, I have added some candle flames to the cannons to give the impression of them firing, two clip pieces on the side to act as anchors, as well as a sloped piece on the bow to make it look more complete in the front. Overall, I am surprised at how much I have enjoyed this build.

Awesome Display LEGO

This is a great LEGO to display at home, on a shelf, or to show friends.
The only thing I did not like about the set is the blue pieces or water pieces. They didn’t come with enough. I had to buy extra to make it actually look like water was below the boat.
Otherwise it is a great piece!!!

I like how people like me who missed out on the original ship in a bottle, can have another chance at it like taj mahal, overall reissuing ideas sets is a good idea and I hope they rerelease more ideas sets in the future.
