Like everyone says it will last about 4 months then give a code 91, even though the cell looks clean and everything is where it needs to be. It is a flawed design, intex knows this and chooses to rip the customer off instead of fixing the problem. Don't waste your time or money on this.
Easy install, seems to work fine. Just wish I could select a start time (rather than just what time I start it) and was clear that the hose needed was included - I ordered a redundant hose.
Based on other reviews, I was lucky to get 2 years out of this ionizer before it started throwing the low salt code even though the salt levels test on the high end of the recommended range. I've tried maintenancing the unit but the problem remains unresolved after weeks of effort. I'm now considering replacing the unit but unfortunately this is very costly when you consider you'll be doing this every 2 years potentially & I dont yet know of a better brand worth the investment. I'll have to do even more research now before making a decision.
I bought this system a month ago. As soon as I plug it in the control unit tripped the GFCI on the cord. Called intex and they sent out a replacement controller. Received it 6 days later. And it did the exact same thing. Now Intex is telling me it is my o outlets even though I plugged it into multiple outlets and even plugged it in at my Nieghbor's house. Now I am stuck with a defective unit because intex refuses to take responsibility for their defective equipment.
I had to order a replacement for the original electorde that was under warrenty when this unit was only 4 months old. Now the replacement went out agian with the same error message of low salt 8 months later. Intex needs to fix it so this does not happen or replace my entire unit. This is becomming unacceptable to have so many issues in such a short period of time.
Horrible salt water system with even worse warranty

Only purchase if you like throwing money away. The warranty is a joke and we only got one season of use. They say there is a 2 year warranty, but this doesnt cover the titanium plates that convert the salt to chlorine. Those are only one year. Our machine reads low salt constantly even though we have done everything to the manufacturer specifications on operation and cleaning. Extremely disappointed with Intex.
