Missing parts

The monitor is fine, it’s just some parts including the screws for mounting were missing. When I went back to bestbuy, they asked me to buy it somewhere else myself. Wonder what if I return it and purchase it again lol

Overall a solid fast IPS monitor

A very solid choice in the mid-range high refresh rate fast IPS monitors, especially at sales price.
Compared to its predecessor VG27AQ, this one has better color (130% sRGB vs 100% sRGB), but not out of the box, you need some tweaks to make it to be real neutral. Do not use Normal or Cool color temp, neither of them are accurate. Try using manual mode to set R < 90, G = 95 and B = 100, you will get better color not too cool also more normal (less red tint).
Uniformity of L5A is worse than VG27AQ, you need to get accustomed to the reddish tint around the center, no matter how you fine tune the settings. To be honest, I was about to return the monitor just because of this, but my eye/brain quickly adjusted itself to neglect it. This issue persists if you look at it carefully or deliberately, but considering the price and no other obvious drawbacks, and its nice color, uniformity alone won't be a deal breaker.
After using it for couple of days, you will like the white more than VG27AQ, which now seems yellowish. Since the gamma on L5A is closer to 2.2 (proved by EIZO monitor test) compared to the VG27AQ's more saturated color at 2.3, green and blue look more contrainted/natural on this monitor, which is very nice when watching colorful youtube videos.
One thing you might be disappointed with this monitor is its brightness, it's definitely not 400nit, rather 350nit at most. On this one, I have to set brightness to be over 90 to make it comparable with VG27AQ at about 80. Don't forget the latter one has advertised brightness at 350nit, so L5A with specs of 350-400nit (HDR) is quite disapointing in SDR.
Nevertheless, this is probably one of the best QHD fast IPS monitors you can find in this price range. If you are already using other Asus monitors, this one will be a nice update. I personally had quite many Asus monitors due to its good value and better availability at Best Buy, even though I had very bad experiences with one specific model (VA32AQ), I didn't give up on them.

This monitor is excellent. It’s very easy to set up, and it even comes with the tools you need for installation. The features are great, the display works perfectly, and the unit I received from Best Buy feels brand-new. Very satisfied with this purchase.
