I vacuumed my carpet with a slightly used vacuum cleaner, then I decided to put this vacuum cleaner to the test and vacuumed over the same area. I didn't think it would pick up anything! BUT to my amazement there was alot that my old vacuum cleaner was leaving in my carpets YUCK. I love this vacuum cleaner and would recommend it 10/10

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've always used the BISSELL brand of vacuum cleaners, and recently I was in the market for a new vacuum cleaner. When this opportunity arose, I jumped at the chance to test the market. When I received the Hoover, I was surprised at how extremely easy it was to assemble. Recently I tore down a sheetrock wall, which left debris on my carpet. I used this opportunity to compare the two cleaners. I used the Bissell first, it was only able to fill up half of the container. Then I tested the Hoover and was appalled by the amount of collected dirt in the container was half full. While using the Hoover, I like how the vacuum head swivels. I currently have a mixed breed dog, and currently shedding her short hair. I used the attachment this time, and I loved how I was able to clean my stairs and tile to pick up the dog's hair. I was shocked that it was able to pick up the hair from the tiled floor, that was invisible to the naked eye. The Hoover is lightweight and easy to use in tight spaces compared to my current Bissell. I would purchase this vacuum cleaner. I am happy with the performance of the Hoover vacuum cleaner. I would recommend this product to my friends, family, and strangers.

Great vacuum cleaner

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a Dyson that is biting the dust after several years, so this was a replacement. It works just as well, for a much lower cost. The downside is that it has a high pitch noise that hurts my ears, and those of other family members (hence the 4 stars and not 5). We are on a lake and sand/dirt/grass is a constant fight on the floor and carpeting. This vacuum has handled it with no problem. Pet sheds and long hair haven't been a challenge for it either and it seems to pick them up with ease. I have yet to notice hair getting stuck on the rotating brush. I would buy this again, especially if the noise issue is fixed. We are hoping it dies down with some time. Overall, I would recommend this vacuum to others!

I have a vacuum now that gets under it, which is a priority for me. All in all it's prefect otherwise and has great suction and maneuverability. Worth the price.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this Hoover Swivel Elite Vacuum. It picks up well no matter if I am on carpet or hard floor. The cord is long enough for me to be able to go pretty far with it. The only disadvantage are the tools. You can't go very far with the tools because the attachment doesn't stretch very long. Other than that, I am pleased with this vacuum. I have two dogs and need a good vacuum. This does the trick!

One pass wonder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'll start off by saying we're a full household- it's 2 adults, 3 kids and a dog. Not a day goes by where there isn't crumbs or dog hair on the carpet. One of my biggest challenges with vacuuming was having to pass over the same areas multiple times to get up those pesky dirty spots. The vacuum I had been using was heavy and bulky, yet still didn't thoroughly pick up the visible dog hair that was stuck in the carpet. So one day, annoyed at yet again having spent a good amount of time vacuuming and still not feeling the room was clean, I decided to take my new Hoover Elite Swivel Upright Vacuum out of the box and give it a try. Mind you, I had just vacuumed the living room using my old vacuum. I immediately noticed the vacuum was not heavy. I was concerned it wouldn't be powerful enough to make a dent in the carpet. I plugged it in, turned it on with the foot pedal and got to work. The handle on top is comfortable to hold when pushing and pulling, and the swivel action of the bottom made zig-zagging through my room a breeze. Another big bonus I noticed was that while I was vacuuming I didn't experience that dusty smell I usually encounter. I'm not sure if it was the HEPA filter at work or what, but whatever it is I like it. One pass around the room and it looked and smelled fresher. Then the moment of truth- the canister. It was FILLED with dog hair and fine grey particles, which I can only assume was dust and who knows what else. All the itty, bitty dirt my old vacuum just left being the Hoover Elite Swivel Upright picked up with ease. That was only the first run, subsequent uses continue to impress me. No more dog hair left behind after vacuuming. It's a great vacuum and I'm highly impressed. My only wish was that it had an auto cord rewind, but other than that I love the vacuum.
