Great shredder

This Fellowes Shredder is a great product. It has yet to jam.
Pros: Jam Resistance, Quality Construction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs

Quit Working

It quit working on the day I purchased the unit. It will reverse, but the auto doesn't work so I can't shred anything. Since the reverse works I don't think there is a jam. It's not overheated, because I went on vacation for a week and it still didn't work when I came back. A waste of my money.
Cons: durability
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

All in all, a quality paper shredder

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The LX70 handled everything I threw at it and came back for more. It claims to handle paper, staples and credit cards, and it did. The shredder is rated for 11 pages, it would slow down as you approached the rated limit. A recommended shredding session was 5 minutes and I never had the unit overheat.. It did have a bit of difficulty in handling my health insurance cards that were a thinner and more flexible plastic, the first one I fed through was only partially shredded. I put the second in a paper envelope and it was totally shredded. The 4.8 gallon bin is a nice touch, you will hold a full shredding session with ease. I received this product free of charge in exchange for my fair and unbiased review.

LX70 Early usage opinion

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] "I received this product free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review" I use this to shred previous financial records, so use can be 5 minutes or more. After approx. 100 sheets, this shredder performs a bit better than the C9 model purchased in March. The LX70 appears to jam less if a sheet is inserted slightly crooked (easy to do on the previous machine). The shredder blades are a different design, and the switch that starts is slightly deeper in the insertion throat giving one a better chance of feeding the pages straight. Time will tell if this model is superior with higher volume and longer continuous run time.

Cons: Mess Reduction

Fantastic shredder for small business offices

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shredder does a great job shredding larger amounts of paper. It is thin lined and fits well under my desk, easy to use. I have not had any paper jams or issues. One of the things I love the most about this is how much quieter than the previous Fellowes shredders I have used. I would highly recommend this product for anyone looking to shred papers in a smaller business office. I recieved this product free in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shredder is perfect for home or small office use, when you have periodic need to shred small amounts of documents. If you need high-speed shredding or have a large stack of documents, you won't be able to do it with this shredder. At least, not all at once. This is a confetti-cut shredder, and the pieces are small enough for the shredding of sensitive documents that you'd have around the home. It's not too loud, and shreds quickly enough. For me, it's exactly what I was looking for, and will suit the needs of my home office perfectly.

Product was received broken

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my shredder and started setting it up. Inside the box was a small piece of black plastic. I discovered that when the shredder wouldn’t turn on, that this was a piece of the paper bin that acts as a “safety switch” so that the shredder can turn on when properly put together. I am disappointed because I got this shredder free for testing and reviewing their new model and now I can’t use it. I received this product in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
Pros: was excited to try a new shedder
Cons: received not working

Great quality shredder

I have had two other shredders in the past, one made by Fellowes and prior to that one, another brand. This one is by far the best I've had. This is also the first cross cut shredder I've had. I have put thick, card stock type mail through it and thin, flimsy paper and it works perfectly with no signs of bogging down. This is a great quality shredder for home personal use!!
