Still Convenient. Not the same Hoover I expected.

The quality of this once-excellent, amazing machine has obviously degenerated. I bought my first almost 20 years ago and it was impressive! Had to replace it 8 years ago and even that one was powerful, sturdy, cleaned in record time. From house-hold to truck, the "old" PortaPower was, beyond all doubts, the very best machine on the market! But this one? I've read reviews else-where and they've been proven to be true.
First thing I noticed: The hose. MUCH shorter than the previous 2 machines, and lighter weight.
Second: Over-all weight is lighter; smaller motor.
Third: Suction. Compared to the previous 2, this has almost none. It's not terrible but is surely isn't the old Hoover quality I'd come to love.
Fourth: Power cord. Lighter weight, twists, doesn't wrap-up neatly, unlike the previous 2.

It's still the most convenient vacuum cleaner I've ever had. For its size, it still is a remarkable little tool to have around a house, apartment, work-shop. I can't say I'm "terribly disappointed". I'm waiting to see how long this one lasts. As I say, the previous one hung in there for 8 years of serious work. This one? Well, I'll wait and see.
Shame, really, how Hoover saw fit to change a perfect appliance. But again, I'll stick with this.

I used to have a Hoover PortaPower and went with a different brand after my old one quit working. I’m totally sold on the Hoover PortaPower after not even wanting to use the other brand because it was way too loud and the inconvenient cord wrap…… the ONLY thing I liked about it was the color (I’m embarrassed to say!) I am so happy to be back using my Hoover! It’s like an old friend, reliable and does a great job!

I. too. bought my PortaPOWER Quiet Series 40 years ago. Love it! Only wish I could buy the round furniture/curtain brush with long bristles (OEM) instead of the short-bristled rectangular brush

Best ever vacuum for flooring.

I’m been cleaning houses for over 10 years, this portable vacuum was my first choice then since I still using this model. Very durable, perfect for floors, I’m ready for get a new one..

Love the floor and wall end! Super edge suction gets to every corner without having to remove the brush. The long cord reaches from one end of my house to the other. No lugging heavy vacuums upstairs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This vacuum is great. It's lightweight and easy to carry. Its powerful for its size and the dirt bag holds a surprising amount. It has a long cord so I don't have to keep plugging it in different sockets when moving to different room. I'm glad I found it.
