I bought it to backup my console and tv. It does the job very well. I like that it's able to display different readings. Battery life is good. It'll last about 40 to 50 minutes running those loads (approx. 120W). My one complaint is the estimate time remaining. It could be improved. The time reading fluctuates +- 5 minutes and once it actually ran for more than 20 minutes with a reading of 0 minutes before the warning sounds came on.
I Have 5 PC at home. I have my two babies that I had customer built. I have another old dell Optiplex with Windows xp. I also have Linux OS running on a dual boot with My Media Server. I sleep with confidence ,knowing I am protected and have some power to finish important work.
I use this UPS for my home computer system including my printer, router and modem. It runs flawlessly and with the smart application it will take down my system after a preset amount of time. Living in FL we have many outages due to thunder storms and this UPS keeps my equipment safe from surges etc. Tripp Lite products are well made and customer service if needed is very good.
The last other brand UPS took out my power supply and luckily not my entire computer. It was not actually trying to supply power(power outage) but just blew up. I will never trust that well known brand again. I had two old refurbished energex ups that worked great but after 15 years and several battery replacements finally died. I was happy and would have replaced them with new ones but the cost was too high for my needs. Tripp-lite filled the bill with good cost and robust protection. So far through at least a half a dozen power outages they have works flawlessly. I now have two. one for my two computers plus 15TB NAS and HTPC in the living room. Very happy with both. Now over two years in and no problems. My belief is you should install them and never have to look again. Tripp-lite meets this criteria. Good product. This is not meant to address the many different topologies or the various needs and requirements a UPS can supply but simply a testimony to my needs and satisfaction. .
I have a single computer which is always on hooked to this UPS. It generally will keep that system up for 20 minutes or so of a power failure. I had my first UPS of this model for about a year when it started beeping and giving me a fault notice and it wouldn't keep the system on with power failures any longer. I contacted support and after just a few questions they sent a replacement unit which has been working fine since as far as I know as I have only tested it once since then.
