You can mount it on the dash or side window and with the rubber duck antenna and listen to the trucker channel, even talk on it. You can add a magnet mount antenna on the roof to get more range. You can add the spare battery pack and take it in the woods for hiking or bicycle riding or fishing and still talk to your buds. Just use low power to extend battery use. Or just cruise the freeway and listen to the nationwide DX channels like 6 or 28.
Found this at a garage sale unopened and 8 and sure glad I did. This radio can easily get all needed channels and the ability to receive weather alerts is great I got this with all the accessories and the rechargeable batteries holder is a must. Over all I highly recommend this radio to all people
The range isn't that good, even with the accessory antenna. It gets the weather channel well, but overall it's disappointing

We hear your disappointment in the range and appreciate your feedback. If you are using the CB in a vehicle that is a big obstruction. If you feel that the CB is malfunctioning or faulty please contact the customer experience team through support@midlandusa.com the team would be glad to discuss replacement options or provide recommendations for a product that might better suit your needs.
I'm a local driver here in a large city, also travels 47 miles of interstate back and forth, I thought this radio would give me peace on mine and most of all a heads up on traffic situations especially during rush hour, so far all I ever heard from this radio is the weather channel, this radio is totally useless to me and a waste of my hard earned dollars, I will not recommend this radio to my worst enemy unless that like listening to the weather, I have bought two antennas still nothing, Midland 75-822 would have been the perfect thing in my case.
