Excellent value for the money

I purchased the HL-2270DW to replace an "entry-level" Brother laser printer that worked well for more than five years. The old model was USB only, so it required a separate print server. By comparison, the HL-2270DW has built-in wired and wireless Ethernet, it's faster, doesn't require as much warm-up time and has a built-in duplexer (which is great when you want to save paper.)
The HL-2270DW is very easy to install, but be sure to download the latest software from the Brother website, rather than using the included DVD--it'll save you time.
In short, the HL-2270DW is better is just about every way than the Brother printer it replaced, and it cost about half as much to buy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good, but...

This replaced a Brother HL1440, which gave good service for many years. The HL2270DW is much faster, and the print quality is quite good, but it has two faults:
1. It's a power hog (8.5A---more than half the capacity of an ordinary 15A circuit). Until I put it on a different circuit, it had a bad habit of causing my system to crash whenever I put a sheet in the single-feed slot (more on that below) or tried to do duplex printing.
2. The sheet feeder is not precise. With normal 20- or 24-point paper, the sheet gets skewed, so the print comes out skewed as well. I haven't figured out how to remedy this condition.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Better Than Expected

Not much to say other than I was and am very satisfied with this printer. It is used in a home setting so we have not been taxing it thru over-use. I can't speak to its longevity as I have had it for only a couple of months.

I was looking for an inexpensive monochrome laser printer with good print quality, wireless and auto duplexing for a small home office. That's exactly what I got with the Brother HL-2270DW--and more! I was very pleased with how easy it was to set up, and it is very easy to use. The print quality is excellent and it has quite an impressive number of features and options available through the print driver. I could not be happier with my purchase.

Outstanding piece of equipment

As an IT Pro specializing in small and home businesses I have found the 2270DW to be an excellent printer. It's easy to set up, USB or one of the network options. Wakes up quickly, prints rapidly and quietly. The print quality is superb and the added bonus of auto duplexing saves paper equating to a direct cost savings. For the price and quality, it is a product I don't hesitate to recommend to my customers. I can't think of anything better for SOHO business purposes.

I was looking for an inexpensive wireless laser printer for printing business checks. I have been using an HP ink-jet for everything prior to purchasing the HL-2270. This printer in now my default printer, use it for everything.
The wireless setup was very easy, just have to know the very basics about your network to get it to work. I would definitely purchases it again!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Other Thoughts: I am not a techie network person...so I was worried about set-up, but it went well. My wireless set-up is: my Win XP PC wired to wireless router; My wife Win XP PC is wireless and my LT is Win Vista, also wireless. Both XP systems printer drivers set up OK...I had to redo the wife's as it did't work the first time. The vista LT was a little different, but the set up worked. I followed the set-up (Quick Start) directions to the letter and I recommend you do the same. The install SW will do everything. You only need the name of your network and PW, if setting up as wireless. I have not seen or experienced any problems associated with excessive power draw. Your Firewall can cause problems during set-up, if not controlled.

Fast. I love the duplex feature. I am very happy with this printer and very glad that I bought it and I recommend it to anyone needing a great inexpensive laser printer.
