HL 2230 PRINTER IS WORKING FINE.
MAKES A GOOD CLEAR PRINTOUT.
I WAS SURPRISED IT IS SO NOISY WHEN FIRST TURNING ON AND THEN IT QUIETS DOWN UNTIL I MAKE ANOTHER COPY.
OLD PRINTER HL1440 WAS QUIETER

The Brother HL-2230 Laser printer is an excellent choice for home personal use.
It has performed flawlessly in generating all output documents for me.

HL 2230 and Ariport Extreme

Just received an HL 2230 from a Best Buy deal. Was worried when I read conflicting information about the ability to connect to an airport extreme.
It connected right up to mine - an older version (3rd generation I believe - it is wireless N, not AC)
The Airport Utility in Yosemite doesn't seem to show printers - had to connect with the Airport Utility from a windows machine in order to see the printer, and change it's name. have successfully test printed from both OS X Yosemite and Windows 8.1. Print quality is what I'd expect (quite good) and the speed is on par with other laser printers I've used.
Overall I'm quite happy.
I would recommend this to a friend!
