Everything about this laptop is great, except for the screen. It looks a bit dull, could have been a bit brighter and sharper. It's not bad, it's just it can be improved.
The laptop is silent and dosn't overheat. The battery lasts several hours. The keyboard is nice, deep enough and with enough tactical feedback. Touchpad works great! I had some troubles with finger scanner, but I am not sure if the problem is the HW or Fedora. Most ports are on the left side, which is cool since I am right handed. The camera has a privacy screen. I would buy it again,
We've used HP products for a long time. We live on a sailing boat, a harsh environment for a laptop, & we appreciate the higher quality construction of the HPs, especially their business laptops.
The main reason we chose the ZBook is that we have huge data requirements (charts & photos) & the ZBook can take a pair of 4TB M.2 SSDs. We had to add the 2nd 4TB SSD ourselves, & it went very well. After removing the obvious screws from the bottom, the case snapped apart predictably, & the M.2 slot was obvious (although we had to supply our own screw to hold the SSD).
Our only minor complaint is that the ZBook uses a lot of power, which we have to make ourselves (with solar panels). Our compute requirements aren't very high, so we only have the AMD Ryzen 5 (8645HS), & that's fine for us.
We've only used the ZBook for a short time, but it works well & we're quite satisfied with it.
I wanted a durable laptop that would likely be upgradeable. My research brought me to the HP Zbook Power 16 G11 A. This is my first HP product and so far it has been an excellent experience. Setup and installation was flawless. The speakers and sound drivers are my only disappointment, but they may suit your needs. While it plays loud, IMO the sound could be better and less harsh.
This is my third Zbook, and I've been happy with them all. Lots of power, upgradable memory, good graphics, and a rock solid chassis. I use it with an HP dock and have no problem driving three external monitors. I'm not a gamer, though, so YMMV if you are. The only real negative is the ridiculously high sticker price -- either get your work to buy it for you, or buy through the education store at a deep discount if you are eligible.
