We have 8 of these knives with the block and after 15+ years all but one of the handles are cracked/broken, missing chunks, and blades corroded. They’ve never quite held a sharpening. This can somewhat be attributed to user error as they’ve found their way into the dishwasher more times than they should have, but they weren’t that good early on either. Our large Wusthof knives are holding up excellently - as good as the day we received them, but for steak knives not used that often these deteriorated quickly. Been sitting in the cupboard a long time unused because of appearance. I am a fan of Wusthof, but you should get a different model steak knife.

Bought to replace a 5 yr old set of generic steak knives. Razor sharp, not an exact match for our 21 yr old Wusthof classic set but pretty close. Not a perfect fit in our knife block but not worried about that

The Wusthof knives that we "purchased' were actually a replacement for some Wusthof knives we purchased many years ago that had some minor issues. They were 100% warrantied and I couldn't be more happy with the new knives (in addition to the others still in our block).
The old adage, You get what you pay for, is so true with Wusthof. If the price is remotely your hold back, keep in mind they will last a lifetime.
