[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was excited to pick up the Technics SC-CX-700's, and really didn't know what to expect being that I've never had high-end powered bookshelf speakers. A few things when taking them out of the box. The felt-like side is unique (grey). Decent weight for their small size (main 21 lbs, secondary 18.1 lbs). Set-up was straight forward. The main unit has a switch to determine L/R for the speaker, and the secondary connects for the other channel. I did so wirelessly, but there is a cable to wire the two speakers together is so inclined. It comes with a remote, and I downloaded the app. It took around 45 minutes for the system to upload and install an update. I tested the speakers in two different ways. One was bluetooth from my phone for streaming in a temporary setup. Second was in their final home, connected directly to a Technics SL-50C turntable. Other direct connections which I did not test are Aux, HDMI Arc, USB-C, Opt In, Subwoofer-out, Lan. 200 total watts of power with a frequency response that ranges from 47Hz to 47 kHz. As such I went in knowing the bass wouldn't be of the punchy variety. Phone streaming went first. There's a simple 2-channel EQ in the app for which I set the bass at +6 and the treble +4 (both out of 10). The sound was decent, not overwhelming, limited by the phone. The clarity with the bluetooth was impressive. The highs were smooth, not harsh. As expected there wasn't a deep low end, but the bass was present. The game changed listening with the turntable. It's the first time I've gone back to LP's in decades. From my memory, I do not recall hearing such clarity from records. Every instrument and vocals were clear, akin to listening to a CD, with a touch of phono warmth. Being somewhat of a bass head, I attached a 10" sub and OMG. I had the turntable attached to my home theater, and when I swapped to these speakers, it sounded better. Amazing sound. Having a dedicated turntable with these speakers is exactly what I was hoping for, and I am not disappointed. I would absolutely recommend these speakers. Your budget will determine if they are feasible for you as these speakers are expensive, but worth it to me for sure. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion.

I was excited to start my vinyl journey with the Technics SC-CX700 Speakers. These are beautiful Hi-Fi bookshelf speakers that produce crisp and detailed sound. The beautiful terra cotta brown color is clean and nice to look at. I connected my phone via Bluetooth no problem. It even works with Apple AirPlay, Googlecast, and more. The main choice of listening is with a vinyl player. These speakers have a built in preamp, so you just plug in the wires and everything is ready to go. These speakers are also great for adding to your home theater system. The clarity of the dialog is amazing as well. Another cool feature I love is the Space Tune right basically tunes your sound based on your room set up. This will give you the best possible sound from your speakers. Technics have always been known as top tier in sound quality and performance and these speakers are no exception. I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up the Technics SC-CX700 powered bookshelf speakers to use with my Technics turntable and as speakers for my TV. This is my first set of premium powered bookshelf speakers and I have been impressed with the sound and build quality.
These speakers are larger than I anticipated, which is not necessarily a bad thing. They have some weight to them and look extremely premium. I have the charcoal black versions, which are wrapped in a sort of velvety fabric. It gives the speakers a softer classic look.
Setup was quick and easy with the phone app. The speakers come with everything you need to get started, even including a cable to hardwire the two speakers together (versus using wireless). You can quickly control the speakers with either the remote or the app on my phone.
There are plenty of different inputs, including a phono, USB, HDMI, and streaming services. I have my TV hooked to them and they sound great watching TV. I am actually surprised how clear they sound and how easy it is to hear voices during movies. Playing music from the app work really well. The only downside is that the app is a little slow when loading up music from one of the available streaming services.
As far as sound quality is concerned, these have been great. There is good stereo separation and clarity from these speakers. Even my wife noticed a sound difference from my previous speakers. I do wish that there was a little more bass from these speakers in my big room, however the ability to add a subwoofer should solve that concern. It has been a joy to re-listen to many of my records and hear those additional details thanks to the clarity of these speakers. Really happy I was able to pick these up.

Hi Todd! Thank you for the detailed and thoughtful review. We’re delighted to hear the SC-CX700 speakers have made such a strong impression with their sound quality, design, and versatility. It’s especially great to know they’re performing well with both your turntable and TV, and that the clarity and stereo separation have brought new life to your listening experience. We also appreciate your comments about the app speed and bass performance in a larger room. Feedback like this is incredibly valuable, and we’re so pleased the speakers have been such an enjoyable addition to your setup.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Technics SC-CX700 is a great option for anyone who wants proper stereo sound without building a traditional system around a separate amplifier, streamer, DAC, and multiple components. They may be called wireless speakers, but they feel much closer to a complete audiophile system built into a compact pair of cabinets.
Each speaker has dedicated amplification for its woofer and tweeter, with 200 watts of total power. The coaxial driver design delivers clear vocals, plenty of detail, controlled bass, and enough volume to fill a room without becoming harsh.
One detail I did not notice at first is how cool the amplified cabinets stay. Technics uses discreet air inlets along the lower sides and a grilled vent on top, allowing heat to escape through natural convection even during longer listening sessions.
Connectivity is excellent, with HDMI ARC, optical, USB-C, Ethernet, Bluetooth, AirPlay, Google Cast, a subwoofer output, and a dedicated phono input with grounding terminal. I paired mine with the Technics SL-40CBT turntable, and the combination works extremely well without needing a separate receiver or phono preamp.
These speakers are built primarily for music rather than Dolby Atmos or multichannel home theater. HDMI ARC still works well for casual television audio and sounds far better than built-in speakers, but the television output must be set to PCM.
Space Tune helps adjust the sound for the room and speaker placement. The pair can connect wirelessly, but I use the wired link for the best connection. The main speaker with the controls can also be assigned as either the left or right channel, making placement more flexible.
I chose the Terracotta finish, and the soft suede- or Alcantara-like material gives the cabinets a warmer, more premium look than typical glossy or plastic wireless speakers. They blend into the room like furniture while still delivering serious hi-fi sound.
I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was looking for high quality bookshelf speakers to cast music from my phone, and these fit my needs perfectly. The speakers are beautifully designed with an orange-red felt covering. The speakers are heavy and feel high quality. To connect to wifi, you download the Technics app and set up the speakers there. You can also connect via bluetooth by just searching for the speakers and select them to pair. I had no issues connecting either way. Connection was better via bluetooth than wifi. Music quality seemed the same with either wireless connection. I like that they provide LAN connection and analog connections including an AUX port for more connection options that I may also use. I connected both speakers with the included cable to have them in stereo mode. Sound quality is crisp, clear, with more than adequate bass. There is a connection to add a subwoofer if you want more bass. You can get the speakers very loud with no distortion. Overall, I'm impressed with these speakers as they sound, look, and feel like audiophile grade speakers. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion.

Hi there! Thank you for the wonderful 5-star review. We’re so pleased to hear the speakers have impressed you with both their design and sound quality. It’s great to know the setup was smooth, the connection options have been useful, and the crisp, powerful audio has lived up to your expectations. We also appreciate the thoughtful notes on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi performance. Your detailed feedback means a lot, and we’re delighted these speakers have been such a strong fit for your space.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked up the Technics SC-CX700 bookshelf speakers and they’ve been an easy 5-star experience so far. Setup was about as simple as it gets. Plug in power, turn them on, and you’re basically ready to go. I’m currently running them over Bluetooth from my record player, and the connection process was quick and painless. No fiddling, no frustration. Sound quality is excellent, even over Bluetooth. They deliver a clean, balanced profile with enough presence to feel substantial without being overwhelming. I wasn’t expecting them to perform this well without a wired connection, but they absolutely hold their own. Physically, these speakers are solid. They’ve got real weight to them, which translates well once they’re on proper speaker stands. They feel planted and intentional, not like something that’s going to vibrate or shift around. My only real knock is the faux suede finish. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it does show marks easily when touched, which can make them look a bit worn unless you’re careful. Overall, they are a high-quality, low-friction setup with strong sound and premium build. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Technics is the top-tier audio division of Panasonic so I was really excited to try their AIO bookcase speakers for our home entertainment center. The only negative of my experience was the packaging for mailing. Panasonic mailed the speaker box in a box that was 3x the size of the speaker box with very thin mailing tape and the mailing box arrived completely open. For the price point, they really should have packaged better. The speaker box itself was very well packed and easy to open and unpack. Each speaker is very hefty and comes with its own power cable and magnetized speaker cover. There is also a remote and a cable to connect the two speakers. The speakers took around 15 minutes to setup and then 45 minutes to update with the Technics Audio Center app. It was incredibly easy to add the speakers to my Google Home setup and to stream Spotify or radio. These speakers are perfect for easily putting together my home entertainment system. I intend to connect my belt-drive vinyl player to the PHONO input since the speakers come with a pre-amp. Simultaneously, I can also connect my TV to the ARC/HDMI input. A few additions I have planned is to keep the speakers on speaker stands and to also get a subwoofer to connect to the SUBWOOFER output. Lastly, I would love to play with adding my dad's Panasonic tower from the 1980's via the AUX input so that I can play some older tapes and CDs. Aesthetically, these speakers are pretty bland but innocuous. They're incredibly easy to use and I am so excited for all of the HI-FI audio options that are open with them. I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest opinion.

Hi there! Thank you for the detailed 4-star review. We’re thrilled to hear the speakers have opened up so many possibilities for your home entertainment setup, from streaming and TV audio to vinyl and other classic sources. We also appreciate your thoughtful comments on the shipping experience, setup time, and design, and it’s great to know the overall performance and flexibility made such a strong impression.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As Kit Nicolas, a singer-songwriter, sound quality is never just background noise for me. I pay attention to vocal clarity, instrument separation, bass, and how the overall output feels when I am listening back to my own songs, practicing vocals, or simply enjoying music at home.
The Technics SC-CX700 speaker system has been such a beautiful addition to my music space. The black finish looks sleek, modern, and refined. They do not feel like bulky speakers that need to be hidden away. Instead, they instantly made my room feel more polished and intentional.
What impressed me most is the sound output. My music comes through clean, full, and detailed, especially the vocals. As someone who records and releases music, I really notice when vocals become buried under instruments or when the bass is too overpowering. With these speakers, I could hear more of the layers in my recordings, from subtle background textures to instruments that can easily get lost with regular speakers.
The sound feels balanced and spacious without being harsh. The bass has presence, but it does not take away from the clarity of the vocals. Listening to my own songs through these made the experience feel more immersive and emotional, almost like hearing certain details in a new way.
I have used them with my MacBook for playback, streaming music, videos, and my karaoke setup. Some days I am reviewing music as Kit Nicolas, other days I am practicing vocals, working, or having a casual family karaoke night. They fit naturally into all of those moments.
These are definitely premium speakers, but they feel special in both design and performance. For anyone who truly loves music, especially singers, songwriters, and people who enjoy hearing the details in a song, the Technics SC-CX700 delivers a rich, polished, and inspiring listening experience.
