This is a great press and grill. For everything from warm sandwiches to grilled vegetables as well as steaks burgers and breakfast. Cleans up as easy as washing a plate. Makes a healthy and tasty meal really easy
I bought this last night after doing some research and reading many reviews. I just finished making Grilled cheese and the cheese oozed out all over the place (see first photo). I fully expected the cheese to stay stuck to the grill plate when I took the sandwiches off. WOW! Talk about amazing no stick...ALL of the cheese came right off the grill plate when I lifted the sandwiches off! (see 2nd photo) No stuck on gooey mess at all! I was sooo surprised, that is amazing no stick! The unit is smaller than I expected, but I bought it because of the removable grill plates and that it opens up 180* flat for open grilling. It comes with a grooved spatula for cleaning, but I honestly doubt I’ll need it. Before using the grill, I took the grill plates off (easy removal and easy to put back on) and put them in the dishwasher. I noticed in one review, there was a complaint about not being able to see the arrow on the dial - no biggie, just put a dab of white nail polish on the arrow...problem solved! So far, I’m super impressed with this grill. I’ll probably try hamburgers tomorrow. Definitely worth the money, and you’ll probably save money by not going through a Drive thru for a panini sandwich. Great job Starfrit!
Just bought this product. Have wanted one for years. Did burgers for lunch and they were delicious. It was fast, clean and takes up so little room. Can hardly wait to try other meats and recipes and of course some grilled paninis.
Overall I love the starfruit panini press - easy to clean, quick heating, rock grilling surfaces are fantastic. I'd give it a 5 but really don't like the heat indicator knob. It's a basic ergonomic fail - both sides look the same with a tiny indented arrow - I highly recommend that the designers make it easier to see the arrow indicator either through a different color or through a better design of the knob.
