Great wireless microphone for streaming!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The JBL Quantum Stream microphone system utilizes usb-c for its connection. The system includes a charging case which resembles one for a set of headphones from JBL. A wireless receiver which connects to a computer, tablet, or phone via usb-c is also in the charging case along with the clip on microphone. First I want to mention that I tested this microphone setup to my current setup I use for streaming and recording videos in a large area. I have a few wireless clip on mics used by my clients for when they do their theater work. The problem with them is they don’t have greatest range and don’t have the greatest sound quality. If there is allot of ambient noise in the area, those mics pic it up also. Battery life is ok I guess since we don’t use them for more than an hour at a time. After using them for 2-3 days for around an hour the battery goes down to about twenty percent. I guess they would last only 4 hours if using them continuously.
Now as mentioned before, the JBL Quantum Stream includes a mic, receiver and charging case which in total gives 24 hours of usage time. I like how you put the mic and dongle both in the case after use. The only issue is if you have the windshield connected you can’t close the case. It will still charge but you can’t close the case. Upon taking the mic out of the case you see a white light flash. Once you connect the dongle to a usb-c device it connects instantly. I was very impressed the first time I used the device. Very well built and feels very solid. It has a premium feel to it. I used it for a few days for over an hour at a time. After about 4 days I still had more than 50 percent charge left and that was using the noise canceling feature. The mic sounds very focused but you can hear directional sounds very clearly. If you use the JBL headphone app you can adjust the noise canceling and also the gain of the microphone. I left the noise canceling feature on seeing there there is allot usually going on around me and the environment gets very noisy. I also like having a button to mute the mic at certain times.
Having the case gives the benefit of keeping the mic and the dongle together. It also charges the microphone when it’s inserted into the case. Having it in the case for 15 minutes gives you an hour of usage. JBL claims you can get 6 continuous hours of continuous usage and a total of 24 hours when you use the already charged case. That is allot more than I’m used to getting with my other mics. After the case dies you can charge it back up with the included usb-c cable. You can charge the device and still use it at the same time.
I tested the distance you can travel from the receiver to see how far it would reach. My property is 100’x200’ and is very open without allot of obstructions. I stayed connected while walking the perimeter of the property while leaving the receiver in a central location. The mic has an advertised range of 100 meters on 2.4ghz frequency. This is way better than the range of the mics I typically use. This mic has very low latency.
In the end, the JBL Quantum Stream wireless mic is my new favorite microphone for streaming and recording. Having environmental noise canceling is a huge plus as well as an adjustable gain. Being able to roam around without the fear of losing a connection or experiencing latency issues is another plus. Battery life is amazing allowing me to use this unit for days without having to charge the entire setup. It’s super easy to wear by just clipping it on and muting is as simple as pressing the button on the mic. My only issue is the fur windshield. It works flawlessly but took some time to install it. I also have an issue with not being able to leave it on and being able to close the case. If I take it off I feel I will lose it but for the most part I won’t be taking it off. Which means I may never close the case then. This microphone is perfect for anyone that does any sort of video streaming or theater work and even some basic recording. It’s just perfect for all of it. I mainly use this mic with my phone. The JBL Quantum Stream Wireless is an amazing product!

A simple and useful device

Whether you are a journalist or a content creator, this microphone has you covered. In the box you get the clip on mic, wind screen, 2.4Ghz receiver/dongle (USB-C type), charging case, USB charging cable and quick start guide. To make best use of the microphones features and customization, JBL recommends downloading their JBL Headphone app via the Apple app store or Google play store. The app lets you download the latest firmware and offers more control over the mic’s settings. You can adjust gain, noise cancellation, EQ settings, auto off timer, LED light adjustment as well. A simple press of a button on the mic mutes it and turns the indicator light solid red letting you know it’s muted. I tested the mic and it was able to block out background noise very well especially when compared to my phones internal mic. It offers a combined 24 hour charge, 6 hours for the mic and 18 hours for the charging case. Another great feature is the ability to charge your phone while in use as the receiver has both a male USB-C for plugging into you phone as well as a female USB-C for plugging in your charger as it allows pass through charging. The quick charge capability will allow a 15 minute charge to provide one hour of use. The charging case requires 2 hours to fully charge from dead. If you plan on using it outdoors throw on the provided windscreen which allows for crystal clear audio while reducing wind noise. I highly recommend this wireless mic If you are looking to improve the audio recording on your phone with USB-C charging connector.

Small package surprise!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So, I received the JBL QUANTUM WIRELESS mic system and quickly set out upon the adventure of testing it.
I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the sound of the recordings. Now, with that being said, I took the time to go to the app to set sound levels as well as background noise suppression. The sound is impressive! Full range audio capture… no tinnyness and a tight, realistic bottom end. The human voice sounds very real.
I have to say this product is a game-changer for the recordings I do. No longer limited to power supplies and lengthy cables, I am free to go to virtually any location to produce my videos.
One issue I am having, is the windscreen not really cooperating with me as I am trying to get it to attach to the mic.
But… we can attribute that to operator fumbling… and fat fingers!
Overall, this system is worth having, worth using, and very simple to set up.
And….. NO MORE WIRES!!!

Game changing on the go capability

The JBL Quantum Stream Wireless (USB-C) microphone is tiny but packs powerful capabilities from the ease of being a plug and go device, to its super long range transmission, to the simple app use. This microphone is really for the on the go streamers, influencers, youtubers, instagramers, and so much more! I have used the Quantum Stream for reels, one on one interviews, to even musical recordings for a brass quintet. You will not find another product that comes close to competing with the JBL Quantum Stream!

Great Phone Based Interview Microphone

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do a lot of field interviews for a small non-profit and this handy mic fits the bill in most situations. It easily connected to my phone (Samsung S24) and after downloading the app, I was off and running. The sound is very clear and powerful. It clips on easily to clients and is not too big on its own. The wind cover is a little awkward to put on and is pretty big but it does the job. The app is pretty good, though I would prefer more adjustments. In terms of a phone based mic that adds to significantly better audio to my phone videos, it really is pretty great!

Capture your audio like a pro

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having a good microphone that can be close to what you are trying to capture is a must, and after using this one during a conference I went to, I recommend it for everyone. Not only is it easy to use but it's small, has great battery life and sounds great.
Pros: wind sock included, charging case, great battery life, works by just plugging in.
Cons: windsock doesn't fit in the case, charging pins might be problematic on bottom of the case if gets dirty
