Immersive story & emotional depth — The narrative is strong: the relationship between the characters, the stakes, and the blend of myth and family drama make the journey really engaging. Many players praise the writing and voice acting.
Polished, satisfying combat & gameplay mechanics — Combat feels fluid and powerful; there are a variety of weapons, abilities, and ways to approach fights that make battles feel meaningful and fun rather than repetitive.
Stunning visuals and production quality on PS5 — On PS5 the graphics, lighting, and world-building really shine. Load times are minimal, the world feels alive, and many of the realms/environments are beautifully crafted.

A smashing good time

I was really surprised how great this game is. If you played the prior GoW game, this is an absolute must. The combat is fun and can be challenging at times, the weapon and abilities upgrade system is straight forward but provides lots of variety depending on your play style and the storyline is excellent. The characters are well established from the previous game, but they continue to grow. There’s also just enough humour added in between slashing up the variety of enemies you encounter.

An epic adventure with a raw, gripping story.
A sequel to God of War (2018) in every sense of the word. Vast in size, soaked in blood and sharp as steel.
there are dozens of epic boss fights, myriad, diverse biomes , a moving story, and air-tight combat. With plenty of thoughtful accessibility options for those with visual, audio and motor skill difficulty.
