Not bad, but certainly not a Concept2. The handle can only go as far forward as the foot pedals, meaning the stroke is much shorter than a Concept2. This shorter stroke seriously restricts my range of motion and causes me to modify my stroke, resulting in, what I feel is, a less intense and more frustrating workout. The computer calibration also appears to be way off from a concept and not really reliable at all. It still gives an overall good workout and seems that it will last for a while. Considering that this machine cost me half of what a quality machine would have, it does its job but it can be frustrating after knowing what a Concept2 is like.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is a great machine for a starter like me. Easy to use and smooth. A little loud , but you can turn up the music, not a problem for me. Great cardio, really gets my blood moving. I am a 5'2" female, it's not bad in weight, but would of been great to have a smaller adjustment for feet. Also the meter is a hard to see if you are not in good lighting. Note: When putting together be sure to look closely to detail. I ended up putting the seat and one of the stands the wrong way and had to undo. If you can get a second person to help you, that's always a plus. Oh yes, I love the color. Called customer service for a replacement my first time because I was sent a defected one, but they handled it very good. I was a bit frustrated with it, but once I got the replacement it was great. Looking forward to a healthier me this 2016!

Great rower except for one thing

This is a great rower, especially for the money. I was fairly fit having been using a treadmill and elliptical for years, but purchased this to add another dimension to my workout. It fits my needs well with one exception. The seat is awful. Although it has some padding, it is very hard. After about 3 minutes you are uncomfortable. After about 5 minutes your own seat hurts. I'd like to stay on it for about 15 minutes but there's no way I can do that because of the seat. I tried putting a folded towel on the seat but that didn't work because it slipped off. If this had a better seat, I'd give it 5 stars.

Was very disappointed in the product. I was looking for something that provided a rigorous non-impact workout to help with the stress and pounding put on our ankles and knees. I work out 5-6 days per week typically running about 25-30 miles throughout. I have an exercise bike that helps with the non-impact but was looking for something additional. After using the rowing machine i noticed I wasn't even sweating or breathing heavy. The motion back and forth was smooth but just didn't feel light i was getting a good sweat going or burning calories, nor was the feel of toning with pulling on the row stick. Better cardio workout comes from an elliptical.
To me running burns the most and I really feel like i have a great workout.

My one criticism is that it puts a little strain on the lower back. I'm 6'2'' and it feels like I'm a bit too tall for it.
