Sound quality is excellent! I purchased the radio in black and love how it looks. This is the second Model 1 that I have owned in my lifetime.

I use this radio in my kitchen,, it is on for about 10 hours each day. Great sound, perfect size for a kitchen counter. This version has some nice upgrades when compared to an earlier Model 1, which it replaced: a much nicer antenna, revised back panel and power supply. Less 1 star because the tuner is a little more finicky than the one on its predecessor (yes, I did read the FAQs).

good sound but volume knob is too sensitive

Sounds very good, and the tuner is exceptional for getting hard to reach stations, but the volume knob is not gradual enough. It goes from too soft to too loud in the tiniest increment, so it's quite difficult to get the volume where you want it. I wish the volume knob was either bigger or geared like the tuning knob, or both. Also the overall amplification is too much, I couldn't imagine turning the volume up to even 50% of max, it would be ear-splitting. The designers should have considered older users who would benefit from larger controls and more gradual amplification.

This is the second one of the Tivoli radios I have purchased. The signals are so much stronger than the one I bought 20 years ago. It's great.

Waste of money

Could hardly get any stations on FM or AM, on a radio about which you brag on its reception. I bought a used Optimus single speaker radio that has clearer reception. And sure, the sound is good, but without built-in Bluetooth it's about useless when you can't hear the radio station. I can BARELY get the LOCAL station to come in, and it's 5 miles from our house! I'd heard about Tivoli radios for years and was excited to finally buy one when Grandpa's old one bit the dust, but this was a huge disappointment.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
