Still a great Radio

I already had this radio and needed one for a room at the other end of the apartment so I ordered it. It has wonderful sound for a small radio, even though mono. I have it on practically all day listening to classical music as my company. I recommend it heartily and am so glad that it is still being made. No, it doesn't sound like my large stereo, but for a small radio I get excellent reception and sound for its size and cost.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had this radio for years, just under 10 I think. First it looks fabulous but the real surprise is the sound quality, it's amazing.It sits in my kitchen and is used everyday, friends always notice it and are always amazed at the quality.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Sound quality is poor due to over emphasis of thunderous bass and no control of to limit this.

I really wanted to like this radio. However, although the quality seems to be quite high, it is designed to over-emphasize bass and there is no control over this tone. The result is that it becomes taxing to listen to over time. Spoken word is not easily understood with heavy bass emphasis and even music is "over bass-ed" - making it an annoyance after a short while. I realize the design is simple on purpose, and appreciate that, but the addition of one knob to control bass to the ear of the listener would make this radio a keeper. For the price paid, I cannot overlook this flaw and will have to look for a replacement that is either not designed to emphasize bass or includes a control of the tone.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My mother has macular degeneration and listens to a lot of talk radio. The simplicity of the Tivoli is perfect for her.And the sound is great too!
